Amazon.com announced that later this year it will open a music store that will sell DRM-free music from more than 12,000 music labels. (I didn’t know that there were 12,000 music labels). Every song and album in the Amazon catalog will be in MP3 format and DRM free meaning that you will be able to use any device, including iPods, to listen to your digital music.
No word on pricing but a move toward DRM free music is a great step and one I hope New York Publishers will look to in generating ebook content that is also DRM free.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. She's currently loving contemporary authors like Sarah Mayberry and Kristan Higgins but her first love will always be the historical. Some of her old time favorites are Amanda Quick and Johanna Lindsey and some of the new favorites are Sherry Thomas, Joanna Bourne and Claudia Dain.
