Fictionwise uses a rebate system whereby you are given back dollars for purchases which you can then use for future purchases. Each Monday they offer three books with a 100% micropay rebate, meaning if you buy the book, you get the entire amount back to be used on a book in the future. I guess it is like a buy 1, get the second of equal or lesser value free. Or 2 books for the price of one. Whatever way you spin it, it’s my favorite deal at Fictionwise and today it is offering two coveted ebooks for “free.”
Ironically, these are both Penguin groups and long time readers of the blog know that I am fairly critical of Penguin’s ebook efforts. In any event, to the next 3 individuals who fill out a RITA Reader ballot, I will give away one e-copy of Amanda Quick’s The River Knows and two e-copies of JR Ward’s Lover Revealed.
Did you notice both of them are categorized as “Suspense/Thriller”? Huh.

I have bought more books from Fictionwise because of the 100% rebates. This time, though, I skipped the Ward and the Quick and bought the Jan Goldstein title. Didn’t read his first book, but psychologically, at least, this one “free” so I took the plunge. I love their free ebook section, too; today I downloaded the Iraq Study Report, but they have all sorts of great stuff there daily.
OK I yield – the universe obviously wants me to read the 4th BDB. I’d quit – really – I’d quit but free is free. And I will spend the micropay credits on books I really want so this seems free to me.
I’d love to hear feedback about the Goldstein title – sounds a little saccharin but I would appreciate any comments while the book is still free. Otherwise I seem to be in a romance slump. Has anyone read the Julia Child Biography – is this worth reading or is it an opportunistic release?
