NYTimes Interview with Scholastic CEO Hints at More Rowling, But Not More Potter

Scholastic CEO, Richard Robinson, was interviewed by NYTimes and hinted that there would be future Rowling books. When questioned about the future of Scholastic without Potter, Robinson replied “We can believe this is the last book on Harry Potter.” In following up on that the Times asked whether Scholastic had first option on any other series. Robinson answered that Scholastic is loyal to Rowling and she to them and that it is “less likely we won’t get it [future book]. It’s more likley it won’t be another Harry Potter.”

It would be interesting to see what Rowling can come up with after Harry Potter. It’s a big lighting bolt to fill but if anyone can do it, surely it’s the creator herself.

And people also want to know if Harry and Hermione finally, er, get together in the end?

Where has that interviewer been? The last book pretty much eliminated that possibility, as did an interview that JKR gave awhile back. Harry-Hermione ’shippers were heartbroken at the time, and quite anger at JKR’s cavalier dismissal of the H/H potential.

    Angry, not anger.

I never understood the H&H shippers. You could tell by the immediate dislike between Ron and Hermoine who was going to end up with whom, couldn’t you?

Yes, I thought that Hermione and Ron were going to end up together from the start, too. But apparently there was (and still is?) a very vocal H-H shipper community.

Those readers need to read more romances because clearly the sparks between a couple turn quickly from hate to love. LOL! it’s all but foretold.
