Pink to Pen Porn? And Other Hot Deals

By Jane • Apr 13th, 2007 • Category: Publishing News • •

Yes, I had to go with the alliterative word, Porn, rather than erotica. In actuality, Pink is the psuedonym to some other unnamed author. But wouldn’t it be kind of fun if it were PINK writing about the exploits of Lady Delish, an alter ego of sorts of Pink in her latest video.
Pink’s two erotic novels, to Karen Thomas at Grand Central, by Maureen Walters at Curtis Brown (World English).

That’s planning ahead; buying a book to be published in 2011.
Steven Pinker’s THE DECLINE OF VIOLENCE AND ITS IMPLICATIONS, expanding on his recent New Republic article, again to Wendy Wolf at Viking, for publication in 2011, by John Brockman at Brockman. UK rights to Penguin UK.

Self podcasting author hits it big with a fan base built on internet marketing.
Successful podcasting horror author Scott Sigler’s INFESTED, about an everyman’s bloody battle against a mysterious parasite that hijacks his body and pushes his thoughts into a psychotic rage, the sequel CONTAGIOUS, in which those murder-inducing parasites are just the first wave of a more sinister plot, and a third, stand-alone book, to Julian Pavia at Crown, in a major deal, at auction, by Byrd Leavell at Waxman Literary Agency (world).

I am guessing that the title will eventually be: The Millionaire’s Billion Dollar Secret Baby.
Abby Gaines’s THE DIAPER DIARIES, in which a cynical philanthropist sees a baby abandoned at his office as a useful weapon in his PR offensive, but in the end is forced by the pediatric researcher who he hires to look after the baby that he must learn care for more than his checkbook, to Victoria Curran at Harlequin, in a nice deal, by Pamela Harty at The Knight Agency.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways. She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!
