I’m thinking maybe. . .
Adena Halpern’s THE TEN BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE, the heartwarming and humorous story of a young LA personal shopper who dies before her time — run over by a Mini-Cooper — who narrates her assignment to prove herself worthy of staying on the top level of heaven (which includes calorie-free ice cream, walk-in closets and a hunky guy next door) by making right some relationships left behind, to Allison Dickens at Plume, by Brian DeFiore at DeFiore and Company (NA).
I don’t want to sound anti inspirational but these books sound so incredibly dull.
Interior designer Terri Kraus’ Restoration series, in which the people who make historic homes whole again - architects, craftsmen, and laborers - find their personal lives also restored and renewed by God’s grace and the love of another person, to Andrea Christian at Cook Communications, in a three-book deal, by Beth Jusino at Alive Communications (world).
Possibly the best Young Adult author being published today.
NYT bestselling teen author Sarah Dessen’s LOCK AND KEY, to Regina Hayes at Viking Children’s, for publication in 2008, by Leigh Feldman of Darhansoff, Verrill, Feldman
Hmm. Sounds interesting
Jenna Kernan’s DREAMSTALKER, about a Native American healer who thinks her escalating nightmares signal madness but discovers that the truth is far worse, to Ann Leslie Tuttle at Harlequin Nocturne, in a nice deal, in a two-book deal, by Pamela Harty of The Knight Agency.
I’m very interested in the marriage of authors and art in manga and comic books. Jodi Picoult is writing the Wonder Woman comics. Meg Cabot’s popular Avalon books are being “manga-ized”. I am for anything that gets kids reading.
Melissa Marr’s three connected manga stories, to Anne Hoppe at Harper Children’s, by Rachel Vater at Lowenstein-Yost (world).
Yeah that there are more professional football stories. I hope Andre gets it right though. Too many sports romance authors have very little idea of the sport about which they are writing.
Bella Andre’s two new erotic romances about the bad boys of professional football, to Micki Nuding at Pocket, in a nice deal, by Jessica Faust at BookEnds. jfaust@bookends-inc.com
Because there are not enough stories about Naked Dukes.
Sally MacKenzie’s three new titles in the Naked Nobility series, to Hilary Sares at Kensington, in a very nice deal, by Jessica Faust at BookEnds.
I wish Red Sage were easier to buy but even if they were, I don’t know that I would pick this one up.
Cindy Procter-King writing as Kate St. James’s EXES & AHHHS, when a dessert caterer and her ex-lover get trapped in a party room following an erotically-themed event, she offers him one last night of hot, carnal delights if he’ll sell her his share of the business…then exit her life forever, to Savannah Clinton at Red Sage, in a nice deal (world).
Calista Fox’s SECRET RENDEZVOUS, the third story in the Rendezvous trilogy, to Red Sage, in a nice deal.
Interesting. With the popularity of Heroes and other paranormal adventures on TV, I can see paranormal romances being a strong basis for future TV shows making the overexposure of paranormal complete.
Television rights: Wendy Corsi Staub’s LILY DALE, a paranormal drama, by Holly Frederick at Curtis Brown.
I am glad to see Schone is publishing regularly again. Seaver is also the editor of Claudia Dain, whose long anticipated release (at least by me) comes out this fall.
Robin Schone’s CRY FOR PASSION, to Kate Seaver at Berkley Sensation, in a good deal, by Nancy Yost at Lowenstein-Yost (NA).
