Daylight Savings Time: Some Time Traveling Book Recommendations

[Personally, I always do the clock adjustments on Saturday evening]. If you are relying on your computer to automatically make the time change, you’ll probably want to check with Microsoft or Apple or whomever runs your operating system and run whatever patch is being offered. Alternatively, just change the time manually.
Here’s a couple of time traveling reading recommendations:
- To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. This science fiction novel is rife with both laughs and philosophical introspection on the dangers and rewards of time travel. Lady Schrapnell is obssessed with ensuring her rebuilding of a Victorian edifice is historically accurate and sends Ned, the hero, back in time to obtain an item known as the “The Bishop’s Bird Stump.” Ned meets a fellow time traveler, Verity, and together they search for the stump and the perils of time travel.
- The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is the bittersweet, or even tragic, story about a man beset with an illness that causes him to travel back and forth in time. During one of his time travels he meets his future wife, Clare. Unfortunately, because of his illness, he is not able grow old with Clare and while the love is lifelong the relationship is not. Have kleenexes near your watch.
- A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux relates the love story of Douglass Montgomery who travels back in time to 16th C England where she meets and falls in love with Nicholas Stafford. This is one romance novel that actually deals with the repercussions of time travel and how one person can affect the future of many others.

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways.

I have been meaning to read To Say Nothing of the Dog for ages, loved Time Traveller’s Wife! How about Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and Karen Marie Moning’s books?

I second “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” I loved that book!
One of my favorite books that is a sort of different take on the idea of time travel is “Replay” by Ken Grimwood. I would call it general fiction, although there is a romance angle to it. The main character has a heart attack in his late 30’s and dies - only then he “wakes up” as himself at 18, only with all his memories of his life intact and lives his life over again from that moment…until it happens again.
Another good one that’s general fiction with a bit of a romance angle is “Time and Again” by Jack Finney.
Another of my favorites that I would probably categorize as a fantasy novel is “The Anubis Gates” by Tim Powers.
Time and Again! That was a good book. I also loved The Time Traveler’s Wife and A Knight in Shining Armor. I really want to read To Say Nothing of the Dog.
The Doomsday Book! IMVHO, it’s even better than To Say Nothing of the Dog. Vintage Willis.
I loved The Time Traveler’s Wife too.
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Jude Deveraux even though she has moved onto the mystery genre in recent years. A Knight in Shining Armor is my all time favorite from her. Another one in which dealt with time travel which gets a thumbs up from me is Remembrance.
