We have a review of Without a Sound coming up next week.
Carla Bracale writing as Carla Cassidy’s BROKEN PIECES, about a victim of a brutal attack in her youth who returns home, hoping the depths of her memory might hold a clue to a murderer’s identity, to Laura Cifelli at Signet, in a three-book deal, by Laura Blake Peterson at Curtis Brown (NA).

Not an inspy reader but I know that there are many who love this line. Like my mother, who didn’t allow me to read regular romances but I was allowed to read inspy romances as a kid.
Irene Brand’s A MAN TO LEAN ON, to Harlequin Love Inspired, in a nice deal, by Deidre Knight of The Knight Agency.

Read about this over at mediacat today. Sarva promises to not stop picking on his now fellow authors.
Blogger Mark Sarvas’s HARRY, REVISED, about a guilt-ridden, down-on-his-luck widower, who tries to reinvent himself following his wife’s untimely death, to Colin Dickerman at Bloomsbury, for publication in winter 2008, by Simon Lipskar at Writers House (world English and German).

Don’t know what house Barbour is but this sounds like a WESTERN!!!
Paige Winship Dooly’s TREASURE IN THE HILLS, a story about a lawman and a widow tracking a villain after he seizes her gold claim and kidnaps her daughter, to JoAnne Simmons at Barbour, in a nice deal, by Tamela Hancock Murray at Hartline Literary Agency.

Erotic romance?
Shelley Bradley writing as Shalya Black’s first title in the Doomsday Brethren series, about a group of wizards and enemies who must band together to find friendship and love in order to defeat an evil set on world destruction, to Abby Zidle at Pocket, in a nice deal, by Deidre Knight of The Knight Agency (world).

She’s moving on up . . .
Jaci Burton’s DEMON ON THE RUN, a continuation of the Demon Hunter series, in which a demon hunter must find and protect the woman who might hold the key to the ultimate demon power, to Shauna Summers at Bantam Dell, in a very nice deal, in a two-book deal, by Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency (world English).

Some closure for fans
Robin Owen’s HEALERS OF HOPE and SINGER FOR A WORLD, the final two books in the Summoning series, featuring average American women Summoned to another dimension to fight invading evil, again to Mary-Theresa Hussey at Harlequin Luna, in a nice, in a two-book deal, by Deidre Knight of The Knight Agency.

Sounds kind of interesting
Jami Alden’s latest trilogy about three brothers who run a security and private investigation firm with a special knack for finding missing people - those who wait desperately for rescue, and those who would rather not be found, to Hilary Sares at Brava, by Roberta Brown of the Brown Literary Agency (World).

Eh
Marie Bostwick’s Comfort and Joy, A HIGH KICKING CHRISTMAS, a novella in this four novella anthology, to Audrey Lafehr at Kensington, in a nice deal, by Jill Grosjean at the Jill Grosjean Literary Agency.

Hmm. Will this be a romance?
Sasha White’s ASK EVE, centering on a popular advice columnist who starts an online search for her dream man, only to discover a whole new erotic world, to Cindy Hwang at Berkley Heat, by Roberta Brown of the Brown Literary Agency (World).

Never read her
Author of Make Me a Match and The Sexiest Man Alive Diana Holquist’s two new untitled contemporary romances, to Michele Bidelspach at Warner, in a nice deal, by Natasha Kern at Natasha Kern Literary

It’s a Tor sale so does that mean its sci/fi fantasy?
Nadine Dajani’s THE PRINCESS COMPLEX AND CUBANISTA, Lebanese multicultural women’s fiction author of Fashionably Late, to Paul Stevens at Tor, in a nice deal, in two-book deal, by Natasha Kern at Natasha Kern Literary Agency (world English).

Another author I’ve nver read
Two-time RITA finalist Anna Schmidt’s untitled NASCAR romance, to Tina Colombo at Harlequin, in a nice deal, by Natasha Kern Literary Agency (World).

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. Jane also does not like to talk about herself in the third person, but apparently this is the way that this biography thing works (although in a true biography, someone else would be writing this blurb). Anyway, currently Jane loves urban fantasy authors Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. She's really excited about this year's crop of historicals including Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady and Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and the upcoming Loretta Chase Her Scandalous Ways. She's looking for a good contemporary author. Email her with a recommendation!

  1. TOR does some chick-lit. I remember them asking for submissions in…2005 I think. Sheesh.

  2. Barbour does inspirationals.

  3. I don’t think Shelley/Shayla’s book is going to be billed as erotic romance. I read the proposal and it’s definitely steamy, but in my opinion more paranormal romance. Then again, not sure how Pocket is going to market this. I’ll have Shelley come over and give her take on it. :-)

And thanks for mentioning my new sale, Jane!

  4. Jane, Jaci is absolutely right. Steamy, but not erotic. It’s going to be mass market and spined as paranormal romance. Thanks for mentioning the sale. I’m very excited about this series!

  5. Huzzah, Jaci!
