This, of course, is in the vein of the “news” at the Onion. K. Greer has noted that there is a new disease that seems to be infecting bestselling authors who primarily write sexual brooding vampires. If you are an author with such a character or know of an author with such a character, you may want to pay close attention to the research on RHD (Rice-Hamilton Disorder).

Jane is a long time romance reader whose passion is, you guessed it, reading. She's currently loving contemporary authors like Sarah Mayberry and Kristan Higgins but her first love will always be the historical. Some of her old time favorites are Amanda Quick and Johanna Lindsey and some of the new favorites are Sherry Thomas, Joanna Bourne and Claudia Dain.

Say What's On Your mind
The day my favourite vampire author succumbs to RHD, I will cry. She doesn’t have a blog, which is promising, and I’m hoping she has a natural immunity to the disease.
Greer’s RHD is too funny. Kat who is your favourite vampire author?
I was trying to think of mine. I’m not a huge vampire fan so there has to be a lot of buzz in the blog world before I try a vampire book. Anne Rice books go unread to the UBS and I never did try LKH (although someday someone will write a hugely clever slash-and-burn review which will make the book irresistible).
I probably most enjoy Kim Harrison’s series starting with “A Fistful of Charms”. Somehow she doesn’t appear to be a candidate for RHD.
JR Ward. I’m a Cellie, but please don’t hold that against me! *g*
