Thursday Midday Links: “Beauty and the Beast become a single character”

A federal judge in Austin has ruled that the Texas anti littering slogan does not apply to Christie Craig’s Don’t Mess With Texas. The decision (which I have not read) reportedly cites First Amendment issues and costs in denying the preliminary injunction request. Rogers v. Grimaldi, 875 F.2d 994, 999 (2nd Cir. 1989) set forth [...]

Macmillan is famously known for two things among savvy digital readers. First, it led the charge for Agency pricing inserting themselves between the reader and the retailer and dictating to the retailer what prices should be charged for books. Macmillan prices its ebooks at the same level as its print books even though the reader [...]

Totally Jealous? You Should Be

Totally Jealous? You Should Be

Library Allows iPhone/iPod Users to Download Audio Books

Library in Phoenix has the capabilities of allowing iPhone/iTouch/iPod users to download audio books. The users have to download a software that deletes the audio books after three weeks. I’m not exactly sure how that works but it is certainly a neat idea.
