Clive Cussler and Denver financier, Philip Anschutz, are embroiled in a lawsuit over the film adaption of S.A.H.A.R.A. Cussler didn’t like the end film and sued. Pearson, the parent corporation of Penguin Publishing (Berkley, NAL, Jove, Signet imprints), reported that its fourth quarter earnings were on track with its expectations and that 2006 would show a record profit. Bookstore sales in November were $1.092 billion, down 1.7%, from $1.111 billion in the same month in 2005, according to preliminary estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. According to the Association of American Publishers, net sales of books in October were up 13.8% but down overall by 0.3%.
