Pearson, Penguin Publishing on Track for a Record Year

Pearson, the parent corporation of Penguin Publishing (Berkley, NAL, Jove, Signet imprints), reported that its fourth quarter earnings were on track with its expectations and that 2006 would show a record profit. Census Bureau Reports Bookstore Sales Down

Bookstore sales in November were $1.092 billion, down 1.7%, from $1.111 billion in the same month in 2005, according to preliminary estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.
