Dear Author Book Club Pick for January

One Small ThingAs you can see by the sidebar, we have our bookclub titles selected through August. (I can’t decide which one to pick for March though) The titles are ones that I think the Dear Author audience will be interested in discussing. The first book of the year is a m/m contemporary romance called “One Small Thing” by M.J. O’Shea and Piper Vaughn.

Rue, a flamboyent gay man, gets saddled with a baby. Not knowing what to do, Rue turns to his reclusive neighbor Erik and asks for help with childcare duties. Erik is the polar opposite of Rue. He’s socially awkward with anxiety issues and spends his days watching Star Wars and writing SFF books. The bond of parenthood, however, pulls the two together in a sweet but not treacly romance.

We hope you pick up the book and join us on the 15th of January for a robust bookchat. Next month’s pick is Kelly Hunter’s “The One That Got Away”.

Jane Litte is the founder of Dear Author, a lawyer, and a lover of pencil skirts. She spends her downtime reading romances and writing about them. Her TBR pile is much larger than the one shown in the picture and not as pretty. You can reach Jane by email at jane @ dearauthor dot com

I reread it too and can’t wait to discuss it :). Thank you from me as well – of course you guys have to review whatever you want to review, but it did not stop me from wishing for more mm (wishing is not demanding, right? :)). Anyway, thank you.

[...] Kelly Hunter‘s THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY (contemporary romance): And then the Kelly Hunter that I’m really looking forward to – her debut for the new Harlequin KISS line in the US.  I’d have picked it up regardless of reviews, but I’ve already heard good buzz about this book and it had a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly.  It’s also the Dear Author book club pick for February.
