Jane I hope you have the time to read Whispers in the Dark by Maya Banks. I liked it but I laughed because it has your (and my) favorite type of sex scene:
The heroine was kidnapped, drugged, beaten, had escaped and run barefooted through the woods, used a knife to cut out the tracking device implanted in her leg by the bad guys and then — after a shower — wanted sex with the hero to make her feel okey-dokey.
Ah, the romance genre, heroines are so resilient!
