Open Thread for Authors (Author Promo) for September 2010

Welcome to the September Promotional Thread for Authors. What's this you say? I read quite a few blogs outside the romance blogosphere and many of the big ones have a daily open thread where the commenters drive the bus.

The rules for Author Promo Night Open Thread are as follows:

The book has to be released in that month (i.e., anything released during the last week of August would be a September release)
You can post for yourself or you can have a friend post for you if the idea of posting about your book paralyzes you .
No self published authors unless you write romance. No, I am not a POD hater, I am just thinking about the manageability of the thread.
Think about the readership. I.e., does your non fiction book about psoriasis really fit?
This one is more of a guideline than a rule, but be smart about your comment because if it is just a link to your website and the title of your book, I doubt you are going to get any interest.
DA reserves the right to delete the post if it promotes objectionable content (i.e., no daddy/daughter incest recommends are going to be allowed. Sorry.)
That's it. Post away.

Another long time reader who read romance novels in her teens, then took a long break before started back again about 15 years ago. She enjoys historical romance/fiction best, likes contemporaries, action- adventure and mysteries, will read suspense if there's no TSTL characters and is currently reading very few paranormals.

My very first historical, Sunrise Over Texas, is up for preorder at Here’s the blurb:

    Texas Frontier, 1826

Kit Barclay followed her husband into the wilds of Texas only to be widowed. Stranded with her mother- and sister-in-law to care for, with no hope of rescue before winter sets in, Kit has only one goal: survival. So when a lone horseman appears on the horizon, and then falls from his mount in fever, Kit must weigh the safety of her family against offering aid and shelter to the handsome stranger.

Trace Watson has lost everything that ever mattered to him. Trying to forget, he heads to the frontier colony of San Felipe, not caring if he lives or dies. But when he wakes to discover he’s being nursed back to health by a brave young widow, he vows to repay her kindness by guiding the three women back to civilization, no matter what the cost.

Soon, Kit and Trace are fighting the elements, Indian attacks and outlaws-‘as well as feelings they both thought were long buried…

    Dear DA Readers,

My four-book Blades of the Rose series is launched this month with WARRIOR (aka, the Mongolia book). To say that I’m excited about this series is something of an understatement. I’ve been waiting for these books to come out…pretty much forever.

The Blades books combine paranormal, historical and adventure elements into a really unique, fun series. Tons of action, lots of hot sensuality, exotic locations, some steampunk elements…basically, something for everyone. I’ve been describing the series as Indiana Jones with hot sex. How can you lose?

Here’s the official blurb for WARRIOR:

To most people, the realm of magic is the stuff of nursery rhymes and dusty libraries. But for Capt. Gabriel Huntley, it's become quite real and quite dangerous…

The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond-‘where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn't be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress-‘just what he needs.

Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artifact Thalia is after. Huntley's assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn't easy to deceive…

    Available in print and e-editions!

I don’t have a book out, but I have two new free short stories. Is that okay to post? If not, feel free to delete this post. Here goes:

The stories tie in with my Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series and are told from the point of view of Finnegan Lane, the womanizing investment banker who is the foster brother of my assassin heroine, Gin Blanco.

POISON: This short story takes place when Finn is a teenager. After a party one night, Finn gets into some trouble on the way back to the Pork Pit.

WASTED: This short story takes place in between the events of the books WEB OF LIES and VENOM (my October release). One day, a beautiful woman walks into the bank where Finn works, and trouble soon follows.

You can read the free short stories (and several others) on the Excerpts page of my website:

    Happy reading! ;-)

    Hi DAers!

My very first erotic romance will be released from Samhain Publishing on September 7th! I’m super excited to be writing (under the pseudonym Abigail Barnette) for the ebook market that so many readers are embracing! I’m having a ball writing something so completely different from my print releases!

    Here’s the blurb for Ravenous

One man claims her by day, another by night. Together they lay claim to her heart.

Annabelle Whittington sails toward Jamaica, and marriage to a wealthy plantation owner, on winds of hope. Hope that she hasn't saved her virginity only to be doomed to proper English wifehood, never to fully satisfy her sexual curiosity. Then the sails of the pirate ship Howling Hades appear on the horizon.

Captain Galerius's demands are simple: in exchange for her blood to slake his eternal thirst, and her body to quell his voracious lust, he will guarantee safe passage. Except his motives are less than pure. In his hold is another prisoner, Ian Drummond, who must soon be replaced…with Annabelle.

But Ian has plans of his own, and they don't include giving up his lover so easily. And, once he gets a taste of Annabelle's sweet blend of innocence and boldness, he can't imagine living without either one of them.

Annabelle, sensing the tortured soul beneath the monster, refuses to let Galerius intimidate her-‘and finds an unexpected ally in the infuriating, maddening Ian. As danger threatens the Hades, she is faced with a choice. Return to her life of duty, or embrace her spirit of adventure…and sail the high seas with the men who have captured her heart.

I have a new book out this month. It’s no good saying I’m excited about it – I’m always excited about a new release. The feeling never goes away.

This one is a STORM book. Although it features characters in other books, this is a standalone and the first in a few single titles, after the trauma of the Ecstasy In Red series. Please buy it, because I’d love to carry on writing STORM!

“Before he became a jaguar shape-shifter and STORM agent, Jack Hargreaves was a librarian and archivist. Almost a geek. Working undercover in Oxford, England, Jack can almost believe he dreamed the last few years when his life turned around.

Except for sexy shape-shifter Shere, an Egyptian goddess with eyes of melting seduction and a body built for sin. And old friends who turn out not so friendly after all.

Shere already has a colleague-‘and lover-‘in Oliver, English lord, STORM agent and vampire. But when she sees Jack, all bets are off. She wants him badly, but she wants Oliver, too. Can she have both?

What should be a routine operation rapidly goes bad, and Jack, Shere and Oliver, together with Chase Maynord, face danger that threatens them all and could blow the operation wide open. Along with their bodies, hearts and minds. Could Jack's first field operation become his last?”

And it’s out on the 10th September at Ellora’s Cave.

Thanks! I’m learning about some fab new books on this thread.

    Hello DA Readers!

SINS OF THE SOUL, the second book in the Otherkin trilogy, is out this month. The books are dark, gritty paranormal romance with a strong urban fantasy tone, incorporating numerous Underworld mythologies including Egyptian, Japanese, Greek and Norse.

In SINS OF THE SOUL the Underworld is divided up in much the same way criminal elements of a city are divided by turf. Osiris. Hades. A slew of demons and demi-gods. Everyone wants their piece of the pie. And when the most powerful ruler’s youngest son is murdered, all hell is ready to break loose.

Here’s the official blurb for SINS OF THE SOUL:

Sworn to Duty. Bound by desire.

Alastor Krayl's world shattered when he learned that his father was the Underworld god of chaos and evil. All that saved him from self-destruction were his newfound brothers and the bond they shared as soul reapers. So when one of his brothers is murdered, vengeance becomes Alastor's obsession. And the enigmatic Naphré Kurata, a witness-‘or is she the killer?-‘has the answers he seeks.

A reluctant Underworld enforcer, Naphré trusts no one, especially not a seductive soul reaper who makes her burn with lust. Torn between duty and desire, she fights to keep her secrets safe from Alastor, even as she longs to surrender.

Super excited and extra terrified about this release- my first from Ellora’s Cave. The Horizon is out September 10th and it’s inspired by all my mad love for funny sci-fi, like Firefly and Red Dwarf.

Oh, and there’s sex pollen. I swear there is! No, really. The blurb makes it sound much more scientific and normal, but really it’s just my version of sex pollen:

When Quade swoops in to save his arch nemesis, Sol, from bloodthirsty Cybers, he doesn't expect to find himself almost torn apart, terrified beyond imagining and even worse-‘declaring his love to her.

Now they're trapped on Sol's spaceship, both half-insane due to the Cybers pumping them full of some lust drug. If they can't get a hold of themselves quickly, they're going to be doing some pretty dirty things.

But surprisingly, Sol doesn't seem to mind that newfound feelings are bursting out all over-‘especially when said feelings pave the way for wild and constant sex with her former enemy.

And of course, here’s a link to its page where there’s an excerpt, which I’m going to say is fabulous even though really, I’ve never got a clue if I’m even remotely near fabulous. The ball park of fabulous is probably, like, across the street from me. In a different country. On a different planet, populated by manhunks called Garg. Though I promise, there are no Gargs in The Horizon. Honest! Go check it out at its page, you’ll see:

P.S. Don’t know if you’ll see this, Lynne, but we’re release date twins! I find that v. exciting. But then, I find the fact that I’m on the second page of the coming soons at EC v. exciting, so I doubt you can trust my levels of excitement.

Mercy is a paranormal shape-shifter romance due to release from Carina Press on September 6. It's my first book so I'm a little nervous about it coming out but mostly excited. You can read an excerpt here:

    And here's the official blurb:
To the Yaguara, an ancient jaguar shape-shifting people living deep in the Amazon jungle, nothing matters more than strength. Iada is their champion; genetically pure, she has been trained since birth to fight. Her destiny is to become the next Queen of the Yaguara by winning the tournament of succession-a battle to the death.
Her opponent is Gabriel, a half-blooded outcast whose mother was human. To everyone’s shock, he defeats Iada but does not strike the death blow-instead, he extends mercy, thereby claiming her as his mate.
Despite their enmity, the attraction between them is powerful, and soon they are mates in more than name only. Their mutual distrust serves only to fuel their passion-two champions bested only by their overpowering desire for each other.
But Gabriel has an agenda that threatens the most basic tenets of Yaguara society-and that will force Iada to choose between her people or her King.

Hello, DA readers. I’d like to introduce you to a two-time RWA Golden Heart(R) finalist, Kismet’s Kiss. It just released this weekend, and if you like lush otherworld fantasy, the clash of cultures, magic, and sexual tension that will curl your toes, take a look:

In the desert realm of Kad, a deadly epidemic strikes the palace of Sultan Kuramos. Only a magical healer from an enemy land may have the skill to save his household. He doesn’t realize that healer is a woman.

Varene finds her own surprises in Kad. She expects the sultan’s arrogance, but not his courage or his selfless care of the ill–or the possibility that the epidemic is the curse of a vengeful goddess.

Kaddite culture condemns Varene’s mystical talents and her presence triggers a plot to overthrow Kuramos. Yet as he and the healer toil for the cure, he loses his heart to her. She falls for him as well, but how can she relinquish her homeland and her principles for him–especially when he already has a harem and his family may be cursed?

“Magic, passion, and intrigue–KISMET’S KISS has it all! Cate Rowan’s uniquely compelling fantasy debut is set in a fascinating and fully realized world where danger lurks in every shadow. Rowan is definitely an author to watch!” – Alyssa Day, New York Times bestselling author

Kismet’s Kiss is available for the Kindle platform, which you can read on any PC, Mac, iPhone, Android phone, or iPad as well as a Kindle! Also, there is no DRM (nasty stuff, that), so it can be converted to other formats through the free Calibre software ( Right now it’s on sale for just $2.99.

More comments and reviews of Kismet’s Kiss are available at its Amazon listing (, where you can download a free sample of four chapters to any of the above devices.

Thank you for reading about Kiss, and thanks also to DA for this thread. :-)

    Hello DA Readers!

I thrilled to announce my third lion-shifter novella, Serengeti Lightning releases September 14th from Samhain.

    Here’s the blurb:

Mara Leonard is through hitting the snooze button on her biological clock. The Three Rocks Pride schoolteacher is ready to get serious about starting a family, and she needs a serious man to make that happen.

Regrettably, that means crossing less-than-serious Michael Minor off her list of potential mates. Michael is impulsive and passionate, but his spontaneity leaks into shapeshifting whenever his emotions run high-‘a tendency he should have outgrown long ago. As a sex buddy, he's delicious. Daddy material? Disqualified.

Michael is blindsided by Mara's rejection. Nine years separate them, and his genetic malady means no one in the pride treats him as an adult. But if she thinks he'll simply slink away to lick his wounds while she steps into the arms of another man, she has seriously underestimated him.

The tricky part will be convincing his over-analytical lover that he's more than a disposable sex toy. That real bravery means tearing up her damn checklist and following her heart. And doing it without letting their explosive sexual chemistry expose the Pride's secrets to the outside world.

    Hello DA Readers!

I’ve got a new book releasing in mid-September titled BROKEN WINGS. If you enjoy tales of reincarnation then give this one a try.

    Here’s blurb:

Rio Laraquette thought the legend was nothing more than an enchanted tale about star-crossed lovers who left behind a fortune. That is, until she figures out that she-‘in a past life-‘was the culprit who stole a shipment of gold and silver and buried it somewhere in the hills of northern Nevada.

While searching for the treasure, Rio’s heart begins to ache for a man who’s been dead more than one hundred years.

They say time heals all wounds, but what if it doesn’t….

    AD 50, Britannia

He was a master of seduction – but no match for the magical allure of the woman he wanted most…

Charged by his emperor to eliminate a clan of powerful Druids in Britain, Maximus never expects his mission to be thwarted by the clan’s ethereal princess, Carys, his daring voyeur. Falling under her spell, he doesn’t realize her true heritage – until he captures her heart as well as her body.

One Night…..Nine-Month Scandal, my September release for Harlequin Presents is out now. I had so much fun writing this book and I hope it gives readers a smile when they read it.
Thanks DA for the opportunity to promote!

    From the back cover:

A sleek Ferrari in the sleepy English village of Little Molting was always going to create a stir – but for schoolteacher Kelly it means only one thing. Her ex Alekos Zagorakis has stormed back into her life the way he left it : completely on his own terms

Four years ago Kelly stood, bridal bouquet in hand realizing that her gorgeous groom wasn't walking down the aisle to meet her. Now he's come back to claim what's rightfully his – and that includes one night with Kelly…..

But it's a night that has lasting consequences!

Here are a couple of the reviews:

‘This story has all the Presents elements: exotic locales, steamy sex scenes and a billionaire hero to die for. However, Morgan's tale has an extra dimension that very few of the others possess – humor. Kelly is endearingly funny and the dialogue is sure to make the reader laugh out loud. It's refreshing to see an author have this much fun with her characters.' 4.5* RT Book Reviews

‘I had so much fun reading about these people, their expectations, the way they fought and made up, that I wanted to read it again when I put it down.' Grade A – The Good, The Bad and The Unread

For those who enjoyed our adult fairytales, Cinderella Unmasked or Demon Lover, co-authored by Marie Treanor and Bonnie Dee, we have another fairytale fantasy available this month.

Awakening Beauty will be released by Samhain in mid-September. Here’s the blurb:

Joel Thorne feels as if he's been sleepwalking through his life. Wealth and success are his; now he's at a crossroads. Politics beckons, a move that would be made easier with a loveless marriage of convenience to his ambitious friend and ally, Vee Gabor. During a long mountain hike to clear his head, he discovers a castle overgrown with thorns and, inside, a beautiful sleeping woman.

When Princess Aurora opens her eyes, Joel's handsome face is imprinted on her heart-‘then she's swamped with grief and loss. An evil fairy tried to take her pure blood to gain power, and though her other godmothers fended off the worst of the curse, she's been asleep for a thousand years. Worse, she's been erased from history and from the memories of all she loved. True love brought her back, but to what future?

    Hello, Dear Author and Readers

Thank you for allowing me to post. My sensuous romantic suspense, LOGAN’S REDEMPTION, by Cara Marsi, previously published by The Wild Rose Press, is now available exclusively at Amazon Kindle for a special introductory rate.

Hidden lives. Deception. Lies. Secrets. Danger. Redemption. Love.

Doriana Callahan’s life is unraveling. Someone is stalking her and sabotaging her father’s company; her teenage son is rebelling; and Logan Tanner is back in town. For sixteen years she’s kept an explosive secret from Logan, a secret he soon discovers.

Logan never belonged in Doriana’s world, but a long time ago he allowed himself to dream of a future with her, until the awful night he was forced to run. Now he’s back and he needs her forgiveness, but first he must forgive himself.

Despite the fact that Doriana kept the existence of his son from him, Logan vows to protect her. He races against time to stop the culprit threatening Doriana and works to forge a bond with his son.

Can the love and passion that still burn between Doriana and Logan overcome old lies and new dangers? The clock is ticking on a second chance at love.

What the reviewers are saying about LOGAN’S REDEMPTION:

LOGAN’S REDEMPTION grabbed me with the blurb. I adore stories of lost lovers reuniting again years later. I just knew that Logan and Dori would be together and loved reading how their relationship had to grow and each character had to come to grips with their respective pasts. Logan had a bit more baggage than Dori and his forgiving of himself was hard for him to do. Dori's guilt was in not telling Logan immediately about the stork visiting her almost sixteen years ago. I couldn't blame Logan for his anger but the storyline was written well enough that I know why Dori made the decisions she made. Joyfully Reviewed

Cara Marsi captures the essence of each character and brings them to life. I loved how brave Logan was when it came to protecting Doriana. The deep emotions he feels toward Doriana and Josh is remarkable. I was immediately hooked once I started this page-turner. Each time I wanted to stop to go do something else, I said, no, not yet. This storyline is so fantastic The intensity of the players practically leaps out at the reader. This is my first book by Ms. Marsi and most assuredly won't be my last. Fallen Angel Reviews

LOGAN’S REDEMPTION by Cara Marsi is a great read, plain and simple. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I definitely give it a Top Pick! Romance Reader at Heart

The Tasmanian tiger, or thylacine, was a beautiful carnivorous marsupial living in Australia over five millennia ago. It was similar in appearance to a large dog and earned its name thanks to its sandy yellow-brown fur and distinct fifteen to twenty black stripes across its back from shoulder to tail.
While the thylacine was almost nonexistent on the mainland of the country, by the time of European colonisation, it did live in large numbers on the small island state of Tasmania. However, the Tasmanian tiger was deemed a threat to sheep and chicken farmers-‘an unlikely scenario-‘and a large bounty was placed on its head. As a sad consequence, the thylacine was hunted to extinction, and a beautiful creature was lost to the world forever.
The last thylacine died in a Tasmanian zoo in September, 1936, alone and pacing its concrete and metal cage, no doubt longing for its freedom.
There have been numerous unconfirmed sightings of Tasmanian tigers in Tasmania to this day. However, most believe these sightings are fake or attempts to gain personal notoriety. The thylacine is still considered extinct by all official agencies and government bodies.
Of course, official agencies and government bodies don't know everything…

Savage Transformation (the second book in my Savage Australia series) releases 28th September at Samhain Publishing and I’m very excited. It’s not every day an author gets to not only resurrect a beautiful animal long since believed extinct, but to introduce the rest of the reading world to that animal via a highly sensual, sometimes dangerous love story. And of course, I get the chance to show the world how wonderful and mysterious Australia is as well (*grin*)

She thought she had a life-‘until being hunted shows her she's never really lived.

Jacqueline Huddart has spent her entire adult life on the run. Not from the law, or even a jealous lover. From herself-‘and what she is. That strategy works for her until a funeral demands she return to home ground, and her best friend disappears. Finding Delainie means Jackie must confront the truth…and accept the help of a mysterious, sexy-as-sin Texan.

Marshall Rourke isn't the only one flying under the radar. He's on an off-the-grid quest to track down a rogue ex-partner who hunts paranormal beings for the joy of the kill. Convincing the unexpectedly feisty Jackie to trust him isn't easy, but there's no better way to lure the hunter into the open than to dangle as unique a target as Jackie-‘the last Tasmanian Tiger shifter in existence.

Trouble is, Marshall hadn't counted on Jackie's brutal right cross. Or the fact that her simmering sexuality calls to his inner wolf on every imaginable level. And that the killer is about to use their desire to add them both to his trophy case…

Warning: This title contains the following: explicit sex out in the bush, wild shifter sex in an abandoned shack, passionate sex in a hotel shower. Plus a Texan hero with a very big secret, an Australian heroine with an even bigger one, a significant amount of violence and as always, Australian sarcasm.

Electric Melty Tingles, due September 28 from Loose Id, is a m/m contemporary romance that’s part of LI’s themed series of releases to celebrate National Coming Out Month (October).

    Here’s a blurb:

It’s August of 1970, and the friends of 21-year-old Oliver Duncan are having a blast at his bachelor party. Except Ned Surwicki. He isn’t an Ivy Leaguer. He doesn’t appreciate female strippers. And although he’s been Oliver’s best friend since they were 14, Ned isn’t much inclined to celebrate his pal’s impending marriage.

Ned is gay, something he’s known since he kissed a boy and got the melty tingles. Ned is also in love with the groom-to-be. Ned is miserable.

On the night before his wedding, Oliver realizes that he’s miserable, too. Of course Ned comes to his rescue.

Thus begins a romance that spans forty years, requires one coming-out after another, and survives a broken engagement, a menage with War and Pees, world travel, an ill-advised marriage, scores of fuck buddies, a father who thinks his son is destined to be a clone of Liberace, parents who reject their son, and, worst of all, the failure of two misguided men to pursue their fondest dream.

The most important coming-out for Ned and Oliver is summed up in a declaration they spend too many years trying futilely to forget: “I love you. That’s never going to change.”

    Hey DA Readers,

If you like fairy tales with a fun, fanciful and slightly erotic twist, check out SLAYER – released TODAY from Samhain Publishing. Here’s the blurb:

Marriage? No, thanks. She'd rather kiss a dragon.

    An Enchanted story.

All Prince Cahill needs to assume the throne is one simple thing: a wife. Except every virgin princess in the kingdom has turned up deflowered before the deal can be sealed. The very next maiden to cross this threshold, he vows, will be his bride.

When she appears-‘injured, half-frozen and reeking of dragon dung-‘he holds to his promise and puts her to the final test to prove her worthiness. A test that involves a mattress and a pea.

Breanna couldn't be less interested in marriage, especially to a cocksure royal like Cahill. Since losing her family to a dragon horde, she has become the continent's finest slayer-‘a job she doesn't plan on giving up until the last dragon's blood drips from her sword.

Yet her sleepless nights are plagued with visions of Cahill doing wicked things to her untutored body. And when she fights at his side to repel a dragon attack, her visions become delicious reality.

But Queen Eleanor, whose reign is about to end, has no intention of giving up her power. Not to Prince Cahill, and certainly not to some young upstart…

    Hello DA :)

It’s my first comment here. But I want to brag that my next anthology COUPLING is out Sept. 24th from Excessica. It’s only my third antho (and the other two were ‘minis’), I’m used to doing my own novels/novellas etc. But I’ve once again gone into the fray for an erotica/erotic romance anthology geared toward couples. Happy, sexy, hot, sexy, loving, sexy couples. Did I mention sexy? Because commitement can be a very dirty word.

Here are the particulars. Hope everyone has a super holiday weekend!

A sizzling anthology that explores all the benefits that knowing someone inside and out (quite literally) can bring to sex and fantasy, role play and power play.

An offering of some of the filthiest couples out there. A baker’s dozen of stories about love and lust and exploration, from the down and dirty to the romantic and sweet.

These stories are steeped in succulent pain and tender couplings, because in the world of long-time commitment – the hotter the fire, the longer it burns.Includes works from Alison Tyler, Jeremy Edwards, Craig Sorensen, P.S Haven, Alison Seay and others!

    Release date: 9/24/10
    buy link:
*will also be at Fictionwise, Kindle, Bookstrand, ARe etc.
    Word Count: 37,000

    Thank you!

    Hello Readers!

My paranormal-historical The Beauty’s Beast just came out today from Noble Romance Publishing’s Sweetheart Line.

    Here’s the blurb:
Lady Kathryn's father sends her to court to find a husband, but being penniless and disinterested doesn’t bode well for her success. Bored by the petty intrigues of court, her frustration and loneliness are eased when the king charges her with the care of his newest acquisition: a wolf he and his hunters have recently captured. What the king doesn’t realize is his remarkable pet was once Gabriel, his favorite knight, cursed into wolf form by an unfaithful wife.

The beast’s too-knowing eyes and the way he understands and responds to her every utterance convince Kathryn he is more than what he seems. Resolving to restore him, she doesn’t count on the greatest obstacle being Gabriel himself. The longer he stays in wolf form as a captive of the court, the harder it becomes for him to remember his humanity and to fight his wolfish urges to maim and kill.

As Gabriel and Kathryn grow to care for one another despite his horrific curse, rumors of an uncanny wolf reach the ears of Gabriel's former wife and her unscrupulous new husband, Reynard. Together, they plan to dispose of the king’s pet, knowing if Gabriel ever regains his human form he could strip them of everything they have schemed so hard to gain.

Only Kathryn’s affection and determination stand between Gabriel the wolf and Gabriel the man. But when Reynard returns to court, will Kathryn's love be enough to keep Gabriel from exacting a brutish revenge that will condemn the wolf to death?

    Hey Dear Author fans!

My last western has turned into a mini-series I called Riding Western Style, and book 2 is a brand new release this month from Siren Bookstrand. It’s also my very first m/m/m menage. Here’s a little more about Heart of a Cowboy.

Derek is only working for a month to pay off his debt to Jessie, but not everyone likes his openly homosexual lifestyle. He knows what it feels like to be beaten to within an inch of his life so he doesn’t give a rat’s ass what people think.

The attraction between him and the hunky Indian Ishwar is instantly satisfying. He finds himself begging for more every second he is near him, but when he falls into the arms of a stranger, things only begin to heat up, until an unforeseen peril puts him in danger.

Derek must prove he has the heart of a cowboy, and it will take every ounce of love and strength in his heart to make it through this ordeal alive.

You can read an excerpt or buy the book here at Siren Publishing’s website.

    Thanks for looking!

    Hello, DA and Readers!

    Now Available!

    RHEA 41070
    An erotic sci-fi romance novel
    by Linda Mooney
    from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid

Bock Gammon was a freedom runner. A man with a space ship for hire. He had heard of Replacements and knew they existed, but he had never personally come across one. In fact, he found the whole idea repugnant–growing a living being specifically for the purpose of harvesting his body parts. So did the governments in many of the galaxies who declared Replacements illegal.
Which was why he was stunned to discover his latest assignment was to bring a Replacement to one of the wealthiest men in the Chatta Dul system. If he hadn’t so desperately needed the money, he wouldn’t have accepted the job.

It didn’t take long for Bock to realize that Rhea 41070 wasn’t just one-of-a-kind, she was also unlike any woman he had ever met. And the closer they got to the point of delivery, the more he knew he couldn’t just walk away and leave her behind to be dissected. He had to somehow find a way to save her, despite the odds and hundreds of well-armed men awaiting their return.

Warning! Contains mutilation, idol worship, twisted old men, blackmail, apathy for human life, black market medicine, a shootout, a taste of the good life, and more gold than you can shake a stick at.

    Hello DA Readers

The second book in my Order of the Sicari series, Assassin’s Heart, hit the shelf two weeks ago.

    Assassin’s Heart by Monica Burns
Book 2 in The Order of the Sicari series
    ISBN – 978-0-425-23652-9

Reviews from sites with similar tough standards as Dear Author’s include…

“This book has one of my least favorite things in a romance, something that I avoid at all costs, and yet I still loved it. I am looking forward to seeing if Monica Burns can top Lysander and Phaedra” -‘ The Good, the Bad, the Unread, A-

“If I had to compare Lysander and Phaedra to another couple from the world of paranormal romance, it would be to Bella and Zsadist. Yeah, I went there!”
-‘ Blog With Bite by Emily @ What Book Is That

“This is a definite reread. The series is on line with the Black Dagger Brotherhood…give this series a try, it won’t disappoint.”
    -‘ Parajunkee’s View 4.5 Stars

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
My first novel, “Perfect Score” is now available from

    Here’s the blurb:
Feckless, exasperating Alex Finch is a rich, handsome and talented singer/songwriter who longs for two things: a career as a professional rock singer, and to have his love for Sam Barrowdale reciprocated. But drifter Sam’s two aims are simply to earn enough money to pay his sister’s medical bills and to hide from the world his reading/writing and speech disability. At this time the word “dyslexia” is generally unknown so to most people he’s just a “retard”. From the severe knocks life’s dealt him, Sam’s developed a tough outer coating and he has no time for a spoilt, selfish guitar player.

Despite his defects, Alex’s love for Sam never wavers and when Sam unexpectedly disappears, Alex begins a somewhat bungling quest to find him, only to discover that Sam has a fearful enemy: Alex’s powerful and influential yet sociopathic uncle.

As Alex spirals downwards towards alcoholism, many questions need answering. Just why did Alex’s evil uncle adopt him at age eleven yet deny him any affection? And what’s the mystery behind Alex’s father’s death?

Both seem to face unbeatable odds. Are they doomed to follow separate paths forever?

I do hope you enjoy it. Although it is classified as M/M, I should mention that it isn’t erotic which, in itself, is unusual for this genre. It’s a love story from the heart.

How did I not see this before?

Any way, my red hot historical romance The Wicked Lady came out from Samhain in September. Linky:

    And the blurb:

Nice girls love a sailor. Naughty girls are quite partial, too.

When a man she thought she loved offered Lady Catherine Harcourt a life wrapped in a velvet bow, she took it. That life wrapped her in velvet chains. Now her status as a respectable widow allows her virginal alter ego, Cecily, to relieve milksop-for-blood dandies of their riches and go back where she belongs. The sea-‘aboard her pirate ship.

The one knot in her sail is Paul Ambury. Daring, irresistible, and a lieutenant in the Royal Navy. Yet the temptation to indulge in his gorgeous body-‘all in the name of the plan, of course-‘is too much to resist.

Paul has known his share of empty-headed society women, and fiercely intelligent Catherine doesn't fit. When he wakes up adrift in a longboat after a blazing night together, he knows why. She took him for a fool-‘and took his ship.

Plus, the evil little genius has him neatly trapped. If he reveals why he lost his ship, he faces court martial. If he does his duty, he must find her and hang her-‘the one woman with whom he's fallen in love. Damn it…
