Open Thread for Authors (Author Promo) for November 2010

Welcome to the November Promotional Thread for Authors. What's this you say? I read quite a few blogs outside the romance blogosphere and many of the big ones have a daily open thread where the commenters drive the bus.

The rules for Author Promo Night Open Thread are as follows:

The book has to be released in that month (i.e., anything released during the last week of October would be a November release)
You can post for yourself or you can have a friend post for you if the idea of posting about your book paralyzes you .
No self published authors unless you write romance. No, I am not a POD hater, I am just thinking about the manageability of the thread.
Think about the readership. I.e., does your non fiction book about psoriasis really fit?
This one is more of a guideline than a rule, but be smart about your comment because if it is just a link to your website and the title of your book, I doubt you are going to get any interest.
DA reserves the right to delete the post if it promotes objectionable content (i.e., no daddy/daughter incest recommends are going to be allowed. Sorry.)
That's it. Post away.

Another long time reader who read romance novels in her teens, then took a long break before started back again about 15 years ago. She enjoys historical romance/fiction best, likes contemporaries, action- adventure and mysteries, will read suspense if there's no TSTL characters and is currently reading very few paranormals.

    Dear Readers,

Welcome to month three in my four-book back-to-back Blades of the Rose series!

November 2 is the release date for Rebel. Set in the Canadian Rockies, Rebel has plenty of action, lots of magic, a heroine who kicks serious ass (I liken Astrid to a retired gunfighter reluctantly brought out of retirement), a sexy as hell hero (hellooo Nathan!), and a sizable supporting role by Catullus Graves (the Blades’ genius inventor).

    Here’s the official blurb:

On the Canadian frontier in 1875, nature is a harsh mistress. But the supernatural can really do you in…

Nathan Lesperance is used to being different. He's the first Native attorney in Vancouver, and welcome neither with white society nor his sometime tribe. Not to mention the powerful wildness he's always felt inside him, too dangerous to set free. Then he met Astrid Bramfield and saw his like within her piercing eyes. Now, unless she helps him through the harsh terrain and the harsher unknowns of his true abilities, it could very well get him killed…

Astrid has traveled this path before. Once she was a Blade of the Rose, protecting the world's magic from unscrupulous men, with her husband by her side. But she's loved and lost, and as a world-class frontierswoman, she knows all about survival. Nathan's searing gaze and long, lean muscles mean nothing but trouble. Yet something has ignited a forgotten flame inside her: a burning need for adventure, for life-‘and perhaps even for love…

“The action explodes on page one and the pace never lets up. You're gonna love Blades of the Rose.”
-‘Ann Aguirre, national bestselling author of Hell Fire on REBEL

Thanks, Janes, for hosting the open author thread!

I am thrilled to announce the release of my Christmas book, THE MISCHIEF OF THE MISTLETOE, this coming Thursday on October 28th.

A rollicking Regency romp, MISTLETOE features messages smuggled in Christmas puddings, incompetent French spies, an unlikely hero named Turnip, and guest appearances by Jane Austen (who very conveniently happens to be an old family friend of the heroine’s, and, equally fortuitously, resident in Bath in 1803). Will they find poinsettias or peril, dancing or danger? And is it possible that the fate of the British Empire rests in Arabella and Turnip's hands, in the form of a festive Christmas pudding?

Calling THE MISCHIEF OF THE MISTLETOE a “delectable, exciting holiday tale”, Booklist writes, “Forget all the Austen updates and clones- Willig is writing the best Regency-era fiction today.”

You can find out more about MISTLETOE, including an excerpt, here:

Debuting from Loose Id in November is my third collaboration with the talented Summer Devon, THE NOBLEMAN AND THE SPY.

They once faced each other on a battlefield. Now soldier-turned-spy Jonathan Reese must keep watch over the man he's never forgotten. A close encounter reveals Karl von Binder, the count's son, also recalls the day he spared Jonathan's life. Sparks fly between the former enemies and Jonathan begins to lose perspective on his mission. He knows he must maintain distance because the heat he encounters in Karl's touch stirs him far too deeply for his own good. He can't keep away–especially when he suspects someone is trying to kill the nobleman.

The spy becomes a protector as Jonathan guards the man he's begun to care for. Together the men try to puzzle out who would benefit from Karl's death-‘and how much they're willing to trust each other when a torrid sexual fling threatens to become an affair of the heart.

Corin's honor demands he do his duty, but he cannot execute the lovely woman while any part of her humanity remains. He must also find-‘and kill-‘her sire. Jasmine denies ever having contact with a vampire, causing Corin to question the justice of his orders. Sensing his hesitation, the Council dispatches another executioner, forcing the pair to make a run for it.

    Hello all.

Big thanks to Jane/Jayne for the chance to get some info out there. Very much appreciated.

I have a Super Romance out in November, Best Laid Plans. This is the story of Alex, a commercial lawyer, and Ethan, one of the partners in her practice, and what happens when Alex’s ticking biological clock explodes. What is a woman supposed to do when her fertility is on the downhill run and she’s single with not a man in sight? Resign herself to not fulfilling her dream of being a mother? Or take matters into her own hands? Being a pretty determined woman, Alex does the latter, but when Ethan gets involved, all her plans go awry.

As usual, the blurb and an excerpt are available over at eHarlequin in the Superromance section, but the rather cool thing (and the reason for my post!) is that Harlequin conducted a phone interview with me for this book and it’s available as a podcast at their site, too. Malle Vallik, Harlequin’s on-line editor, asked me some awesome questions that really made me think – and babble on and on and on. So if you’re looking for some insights into the why’s behind a book, 19 minutes of me rambling on in a genuine Australian drawl should get you started! ( Happy reading, everyone.

My debut novel, Enemy Within, comes out 11/2/2010 from Berkley Sensations. It’s science fiction romance with a dose of kick backsides, don’t worry about names.

After a stint in an alien prison torpedoes her military career, Captain Ari Idylle has to wonder why she even bothered to survive. Stripped of her command and banished to her father’s scientific expedition to finish a PhD she doesn’t want, Ari never planned to languish quietly behind a desk. But when pirates commandeer her father’s ship, Ari once again becomes a prisoner.

Pirate leader Cullin Seaghdh may not be who he pretends to be but as far as Cullin is concerned, the same goes for Ari. Her past imprisonment puts her dead center in Cullin’s sights and if she hasn’t been brainwashed and returned as a spy, then he’s convinced she must be part of a traitorous alliance endangering billions of lives. Cullin can’t afford the desire she fires within him and he’ll stop at nothing, including destroying her, to uncover the truth.

This is the first book in a five book series. Book two, Enemy Games is scheduled for release in May 2011.

    “Enticement” by Madelynne Ellis

Once trouble moves in, it can throw a kink in your plans.

Evie's future finally looks as tidy as the Yorkshire house she shares with Ross, her serious boyfriend. Until she comes home and sneaks into his after-work shower-‘and discovers she's just jumped a naked stranger with mysterious, deep-running ties to Ross's past.

Fresh from a bartending stint in Japan, Kit plans to move into his newly inherited house as soon as it gets a roof. Meanwhile, his old friend Ross has offered him a spare room. How better entertain himself than by pushing Evie's buttons…and her boundaries?

Risk isn't Ross's style-‘at least, not anymore-‘but then again, he was never able to say no to Kit. Memories of their wild adventures still spice his sexual fantasies. Fantasies that could cost him Evie's love, if she knew.

Captured by Kit's bad-boy charm, Evie finds her vision of domestic bliss rapidly fading in the growing intensity of Kit's dark sexuality. Kit knows he's playing fast and loose with Ross and Evie's relationship, but he's certain he can win them over and have what he's always wanted. A three-way romance.

Even if his last attempt ended in a disaster that comes back to haunt them all…

    Dear Jane,
Thanks for hosting this and a big wave to the other authors. All your books sound fabbo!
My November release, The Most Magical Gift of All is my 14th Harlequin Medical Romance but my very first Christmas book! I had such a blast writing it and for anyone wondering what happens down-under at Christmas where there’s no snow in sight and Santa’s sleigh is pulled by Kangaroos, then I think you might enjoy this story.

Sophie is running away from Christmas and thinks coming to Australia is the key. Badboy Jack has no plans to be in Barragong this Christmas and his Harley is ready to leave town on a vactation that’s five years overdue. But the universe has different plans for both of them and I had so much fun giving them both a Christmas to remember.

You can grab a paperback or e-edtion at from November 1st or now from as an early Christmas treat for yourself :-)

Thanks for the opportunity. I’d like to highlight the November release of That Christmas Feeling – a novella anthology by Kathleen O’Brien, Brenda Novak and myself, Karina Bliss, for Superromance.
My story – Kiss Me, Santa – is about a loner living in a street famous for its Christmas lights. It’s his community-minded neighbor’s task to ensure no one – but no-one – breaks a hallowed twenty-year-old tradition. Single mom versus single-minded Grinch. Whose Christmas spirit is going to break first?

Wow! Thanks, Jane. This is awesome. I just published a new steampunk romance novella to Amazon. It’s so new, it just became available yesterday, sans the description. Nothing like being shoved on stage, completely naked, thanks to an Amazon super computer.

The novella, THE ADMIRAL, features a broody lost soul with big shoulders in command of a submersible venture, a sunken temple, a dark sage, divine visions, a determined female temple guardian, a bit of treasure, some hot very altar scenes and one or two man-eating lizards (after one, who’s counting?). For the more formal description, I hope you’ll visit my website at:

Also, while I’m here, I have say that Zoe Archer’s books keep me up at night. I loved Scoundrel and I can’t wait for Rebel :-)

My fifth book this year is out, this one a romantic mystery featuring a bookshop owner who specializes in the evaluation of pornography and a guy trying to solve a riddle left to him by his murdered ex.
They team up on a cross-country road trip that almost gets ’em killed.
Oh, and there’s some crooked politicians, too, and a best friend who turns out to be not such a friend after all.

    Oct 25, 2010 @ 06:04:33

My 4th book under the name Lauren Gallagher (I also write M/M as L. A. Witt) will be released November 3 from Carnal Passions. UNTIL IT’S OVER is a contemporary erotic romance, and the blurb is as follows:

Just as dressage trainer Dani Blake decides the best kind of relationship is no relationship at all, along comes cunning linguist Connor Graham, and he’s the perfect Mr. Right Now. He’s newly single, not looking for any type of attachment, and smoking hot in bed.

Best of all, he's moving out of state in a few months, so there's no pressure for – and no chance of – a long-term relationship. Even if Dani hadn't already made the mistake of moving to another state for a man in the all too recent past, a mistake she's not keen on repeating, she's stuck in Seattle because she can't afford to move her beloved horses again.

So she and Connor will just take advantage of the time they have and enjoy it until it's over. It's just enough time to have some fun, and not nearly enough time to fall in love with him.

    Oct 25, 2010 @ 07:49:10

My November release for Harlequin Presents is The Twelve Nights of Christmas. I've written lots of Christmas stories for Medicals, but this is my first for HP (it's published as an Extra but that's just a scheduling decision and nothing to do with the content of the book. It's still a classic Presents)

My hero, Rio, hates everything about the festive season and would challenge Ebenezer Scrooge in the misery stakes – given the choice, he'd rather pretend it wasn't happening. Unfortunately he finds himself tangling with my heroine, Evie, who is a Christmas loving girl. Rio's journey from Bah Humbug to hope was great fun to write and the first chapter is up on my website if anyone wants a taste.

Thanks DA for the opportunity to mention Christmas. At least being online you can't be pelted with baubles for mentioning the dreaded word in October.

My second book will be published by Carnal Passions in November – possibly the 10th, but definitely that month.

    Something doesn't add up…

Lydia’s looking for a job not a lover, but after her interview at Saint Joseph’s University, she ends up with both. There’s a need for discretion despite her bright pink hair and Doctor Spencer Flynn’s candy apple red Mustang; after all, she’s an admin assistant now, he’s a lecturer in applied mathematics and they work together. So they conduct their liaisons behind closed doors which is all right with Lydia; she’s never experienced chemistry like it.

‘Discreet' soon begins to look a lot like ‘secretive' and a last-minute cancellation of a date prompts Lydia to rethink her role in the relationship. Braced for a break-up, she’s amazed when Spencer confesses the secret he’s been keeping all along. His loyalties are divided and when Lydia’s attempts to hold on to his attention backfire publicly, she wonders if playing house with a mathematician is a zero-sum game…

Dear Jane, thanks for doing this every month. I have a romance-suspense, Come Back to Me, coming out in November with Evernight Publishing.
The cover may be the very best I’ve ever had! I’m in love with it.
Sometimes the safest path is to keep people at a distance…especially men.

Cara's life has been one nightmare after another. Abused as a child and neglected by her parents, she's quick to blame herself for every cruel thing that happens to her. And then there's James, the only man capable of making her forget her misgivings and learn to love again.

James, a young doctor in training, is aware of Cara's history. He's determined to break through her barriers and build a life with her…and fails. Cara runs away in an attempt to reinvent herself and James fears he's lost her for good. When she falls into the hands of a drug dealer and mob boss, life as they know it is about to get a whole lot worse.

Can their love withstand the demons of her past and present?

My debut release, “Fallen: The Tale of a Dark God” (Book 1 in the Dark God Saga)is currently available at Beautiful Trouble Publishing.

Hell hath no fury like a goddess scorned…

Scorned by Thanatos, one of the powerful Dark Gods, Aphrodite concocts a plan for revenge, the end result of which is Thanatos being stripped of his godhood and sent to live among humans.

And the pure shall redeem him…

Simone Randall is your average New York City journalist. She's always looking for a good story, so when she's invited to the most anticipated Halloween event of the year, she's definitely going…even if she is a bit bummed at her lackluster life at the age of twenty-six. What she doesn't expect is her fiery attraction to the sexy, dark haired, grey-eyed god at the event.

Thanatos does not believe in the “uniting mates” theme of the Ball, and he's there for one reason only: to speak to the god of all gods about the reinstatement of his powers. His attraction to Simone comes as a surprise-‘be it welcome-‘as she is not his usual type.

Will Simone be his salvation or will his attraction to this human prove more dangerous than he anticipates?

Thanks to Dear Author and Jane for the chance to talk about my newest release.

My November release, IMPULSIVE, is the 5th book I’ve written that’s set in Hawaii. This one follows a serious sttorney hero and a wild child heroine. Here’s the blurb:

Katie Long was supposed to be undercover. She was just supposed to watch Deputy Prosecutor Eric Kimura at his ex's wedding and gather intel on his campaign for prosecutor. But he's a lot hotter in person, and the kind of intel they accidentally shared in the hotel bathroom might lose both of them their jobs. Especially since it seems to be a recurring incident. Is it possible for a one-night stand to last ten days?

Kimura isn't usually the impulsive type. He's driven, he's ambitious, and he knows what he wants-‘a respectable future in Hawaii politics. Which means wild half-public sex with a beautiful stranger in a short little caterer's skirt is just tabloid fodder waiting to happen. Conveniently, just as his campaign is coming under attack. Sabotage, media gossip, and an insatiable desire for a woman he just met? If he's not careful, Counselor Kimura might lose all control…

I hope you’ll check it out!

Thanks for the chance to share!

My first book with Samhain, contemp romance HANDS ON, will be published November 16th.

    Here’s the book blurb:

Want to make Fate laugh? Try telling her who's in charge.
Talented, down-on-her-luck puppeteer Ginnie Anderson's life seems destined to fall down around her ears. Much like the rented bungalow that's just collapsed in a heavy rainstorm, endangering her precious collection of marionettes.

Her livelihood in need of protection and repair, she can't refuse her landlord's offer of temporary shelter in his magnificent home. Under his roof, though, she finds her hard-won grasp on her independence slipping-‘and herself falling into his arms.

The hallmark of Harry Sharpe’s business success: he never makes the same mistake twice, particularly when it comes to manipulative women. So why is Ginnie, who pulls strings for a living, like a siren's song in his blood? It's best to put temptation as far out of reach as possible.

Yet when Ginnie's past threatens to destroy the life she's built for herself, Harry must decide which is more important. Holding tight to his sense of self preservation, or letting go to capture Ginnie's fragile heart-‘before it breaks into a thousand pieces.

Warning: Contains sizzling sex between a powerful hero who likes to be in control, and a heroine whose talented hands teach him the pleasure of giving up the reins.

    Dear Jane/Jayne,

This is a very interesting concept and I’m very happy I stopped by (I’ve been looking forward to another book by Sarah MacLean and now I can’t wait to get it tomorrow).

For myself, I write contemporary erotic romance with Dominant/submissive and BDSM elements. November 16th will see the release of my 7th book with Loose Id, LLC.

Diablo Blanco Club: Rite of First Claim is the fourth book in my Diablo Blanco Club series and finally answers the question about whether Mike Halsey and Lyssa Lawrence will give in to the attraction between them.

Lyssa Lawrence is a confident woman, running her own fashion design business, but fighting her attraction to a man six years her junior. Hard lessons learned in childhood had convinced Lyssa “Happily Ever After” wasn’t for her, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t yearn for it.

Mike Halsey has spent twelve years building his reputation as a photojournalist, while harnessing his dominant nature every time Lyssa rebuffed him.

The Diablo Blanco Club’s Halloween Midnight Masquerade provides Mike with an opportunity to claim Lyssa as his submissive. Now he has thirty days to prove that she was born to belong to him.

** Caution: This book dabbles in Dominant/submissive lifestyles, bondage, and very hot sex!! **

It’ll be available for purchase on November 16th.

Thanks DA for hosting this thread! :-)

I’ve got the next book in my Psy/Changeling series, Play of Passion, releasing Nov 2nd. Both the hero and heroine are wolf changelings, and the book takes the reader deep into the SnowDancer pack.

Here’s the blurb (there’s an excerpt on my website):

Passion and reason collide with explosive force in the newest installment of Nalini Singh's “mesmerizing”* Psy/Changeling series. As a conflict with Pure Psy looms on the horizon, two powerful wolves fight a far more intimate war of their own…

In his position as tracker for the SnowDancer pack, it's up to Drew Kincaid to rein in rogue changelings who have lost control of their animal halves-‘even if it means killing those who have gone too far. But nothing in his life has prepared him for the battle he must now wage to win the heart of a woman who makes his body ignite…and who threatens to enslave his wolf.

Lieutenant Indigo Riviere doesn't easily allow skin privileges, especially of the sensual kind-‘and the last person she expects to find herself craving is the most wickedly playful male in the den. I’m so excited to announce my first Samhain release! Thief is a sci-fi/futuristic romance available November 2, 2010. Here is a small blurb:

On the edge of freedom lies a dangerous love.

Nothing has ever come easy for Jace Lawless, captain of the salvage vessel Mutiny. Forced into thievery after a virus unleashed by the InnerWorld Government killed his family, only one ambition burns at the back of his mind. Kill the next IWOG officer he has at his mercy.

Bargaining over goods with a middleman isn’t exactly his strong suit. But who in his right mind spends an entire salvage job’s profits on a woman, even if she has a body built for sin and eyes so fathomless a man could lose himself in them? He must be getting soft.

Once Kraft realizes Jace expects only the “cook” part of their cook-whore contract, she sets out to change his antiquated ideas about women. A challenge she relishes, especially if it earns her the freedom and money to get her own ship. Her big mistake is letting down her guard.

Shameless flirting only intensifies the itch to ride Jace hard and put him away wet-‘several times. It’s an itch it would be dangerous to scratch. Exposing her heart could reveal her secret, one that the still-grieving Jace must never know . . . showing her mercy will be the last thing on his mind.

Warning: Contains a celibate ship captain who can’t abide swearing, a kick-ass woman with a marshmallow heart, a motley crew of misfits, interstellar battles, thwarted groping, sensual seduction, and a total bastard who owns his own planet.

Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to introduce my sexy contemporary, DEFY THE WORLD TOMATOES, a November 9th release from Samhain.

When my boyfriend owned his own plane, we used to fly from Burbank to San Luis Obispo where his friend would pick us up and take us to Morro Bay. While the men talked about cars, I scouted the charming resort town like a movie location scout. I took photos, made notes and created my own quirky town of Monarch Bay.

Darcy owns the nursery gift shop, DEFY THE WORLD TOMATOES, and Griffin is a concert pianist, a rock star of the classical world. She has her roots firmly planted, and he’s comfortable on any stage. She expects only a brief fiery affair, but a dangerous trip into his glamorous world could cost her her life. THE WORLD TOMATOES

The fourth book in my Ra’s Chosen vampire series called Embrace the Hunger will be released at Ellora’s Cave on November 5th.

Akori wants nothing to do with this whole mate business. Some of his fellow warriors may have succumbed to what Ra deems an inescapable fate, but Akori knows better. If he can avoid placing himself in a situation where destiny can gain the upper hand, he'll be fine. No problem. What he doesn't count on is fate showing up on his doorstep, however.

Jordan didn't expect to find the added bonus of a hotter-than-hell man while out scouting photo shoot locations, but her artistic eye knows what sin in jeans looks like and this guy is it. Used to taking the backseat to her models, she's pleasantly surprised when Akori looks at her with hunger in his eyes.

But as things heat up, danger approaches and Jordan discovers she must not only accept Akori for what he truly is, but also save him from a fate worse than death.

Someone doesn’t want them kissing at all.

Just as things with Derek begin heating up, disturbing photos start to arrive at Vanessa’s door. Someone is watching her every move: someone she may know. Terrified by the stalker’s very real threats, Vanessa soon realizes that Derek may be just the hero she needs after all.

    I have 2 m/m books and 1 m/f book out during November.

Rescue Me centres around rich man Matt Harmon who is in a near fatal car crash and hires nurse James Hayden to help him back to health. But it soon becomes apparent that Matt needs more than his physical health nursing and he is strongly drawn to James from the start.

Out 20 November. Visit the link below:

Second Helpings is my second book in the Table for Two series centreing around French chef Luc and his English lover and food critic, Daniel.

Compromise is not a dirty word.

French chef Luc Tessier once thought his world-class cooking skills-‘and cleaver-sharp ability to strike sexual sparks-‘had won him the ultimate prize. The heart of his beautiful English boyfriend, food critic Daniel Sheridan.

Little did he know the battle had only just begun. And now his most formidable foe has just shown up on their doorstep. Daniel's mother. With Daniel still firmly in the closet and determined to stay, the chance that Luc will get laid any time soon is deflating faster than a failed soufflé.

Daniel has learned to deal with Luc's natural arrogance and domineering tendencies. What he can't handle are the repercussions, real and imagined, of coming out before he's ready. Hence his nightmare task of juggling his nosy mother and his horny lover under the same roof.

Seven days is a long time for anyone to be on his best behaviour, much less a Frenchman who's only a touch away from one desperate goal-‘his lover's bed. But getting what he wants could come at too great a cost. Daniel's trust.

    Out 30 November:

Finally, my first published m/f book comes later in the month from Evernight Publishing.

Sebastien, a French vampire, has lived with the murder of his true love for three hundred years. Now there's someone new on the scene, someone who looks very much like his dead love. Did she somehow survive? Has she been reincarnated? He won't stop until he finds out exactly who she is.

Alex, a blonde and beautiful woman who isn't afraid to speak her mind, is followed one night by a mysterious man. Their chemistry is undeniable, and despite the realization he wants her because she looks like someone from his past, she finds herself naked and beneath him.

Soon, Alex is visited by a member of the mysterious Council, one who threatens to end her life. Can Sebastien save her, or will she meet the same fate Eloise did three hundred years ago?

My e-book ‘Mattress Music' is due for release on 9th of November at Ellora's Cave. It's the first in a set of three short stories focusing on the London ‘rock and roll' scene in a very literal sense! Look out for the others coming soon ‘Mirror Music' and ‘Menage à Music'

    Here's the blurb

Is it possible to lose one's ability to orgasm? Nina has. Lately, her fun weekend hook-ups have been more “ho-hum” than “hot damn”! It doesn't help that she has three flatmates and is forced to play loud music to mask the sounds of her lovemaking. Talk about distracting! Of course, there's another reason Nina's less than satisfied these days…she's just having a hard time admitting it.
It's a good thing she's met Ian, then. Not content to be a weekend hook-up, Ian is set on giving Nina what she's been missing while making her admit what she needs. His talented fingers-‘and other body parts-‘are up to the task. But Ian's not admitting a few things himself. Turns out his fingers can do more than make Nina's body sing.
When she discovers his secret, it's time for both of them to face the music.

To find out what Ian has in store for Nina here's the buy link

Today is release day! Thanks for the opportunity to let me talk about my debut novel, Friday Night Jamie, just released from Loose Id.
Friday Night Jamie is a male/male contemporary romantic suspense. The book was a lot of fun to write, and I hope you'll have just as much fun reading it. Hot guys, hot sex, the mob and the FBI hot on their heels – what more can you ask for?

Read the blurb below, and then read an excerpt at:

Jamie is an accountant who lives by a strict schedule: every day is planned; the future is predictable. And that schedule includes one night a week when he allows himself to blow off steam at a gay dance club in the City. One Friday night he gets more than he bargained for when he meets Matt, an out of work stranger with long dark hair and rough hands. The attraction is undeniable but Matt does not fit Jamie's idea of the perfect man to share his carefully ordered life.
Instead, Jamie longs for a date with his dream man: handsome, sophisticated Keith, a successful Vice President at his prestigious New York accounting firm, a man on his way up.
But everything changes when Jamie discovers a suspicious error in one of his accounts. Suddenly, he finds himself on the run from both the mob and the FBI — and the only man who can help him is the tall, dark-haired stranger he rejected. Because Matt is not who he seems – and neither is Keith.

Friday Night Jamie is now available at:

Hi all, my YA fantasy novel “Heir to the Underworld” just released this week from Sapphire Blue Publishing. It's a YA fantasy-romance dealing with ancient gods, the Wild Hunt and all kinds of other supernatural wackiness.

Frederica always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even a bit boring. Then a hottie dressed as a reject from Gladiator, almost ran her down on the sidewalk. With his horse. The weird keeps coming from there: zombie dogs running around the suburbs, insane crows stalking her, and said hottie asking her on a date. But the cute stranger has secrets he isn't sharing. Trouble follows him like his shadow. The closer they grow, the weirder life gets, until Freddy discovers something about her own past that changes everything she ever thought she knew about herself. And her world.

    Hi everyone,

My Christmas novella has just been released. It’s called Christmas Miracle, and tells the tale of a cold woman who meets the man who could very well melt her heart…

Melanie Samuels is not fond of Christmas. In fact, she's not really fond of anything that doesn't include making her PR agency even better than it currently is. She's been called many names before, bitch being the most frequent. Not that she cares. As long as she's raking in profits, Melanie is as “happy” as she can be.

An encounter with a new potential client, business mogul Cameron Macintosh, begins to change that.

Sebastian Cameron Macintosh, Jr. needs a publicist. Well, at least, other people think so. He doesn't particularly want one, but when the person who booked the appointment is his annoying little sister, he has no choice to but to show up. He expects to be bored to death with an unnecessary meeting, but is instead intrigued by the cool, stoic Melanie Samuels, owner of the MS Agency.

Within days, intrigue turns to more, and before long, Cameron is completely taken with her. All he has to do is convince Melanie to take a chance and trust him.

With all the baggage Melanie carries around daily, it will be a Christmas miracle if she does…

Thank you so much for this very generous opportunity to tell readers about our books. My romantic suspense novels, DEADLY SECRETS AND DEADLY BETRAYAL, were both re-released in November. They were originally published before the current popularity of ebooks (as Anna’s Secret and Betraying Mikki) and I was very excited to bring them out again with Books We Love Publishing Partners (BWLPP). BWLPP is a different kind of publisher (We put our authors first in all our dealings. We believe that happy authors write the kind of books that make readers very happy). BWLPP was formed by three authors, and we know how happy we are to work with a publisher that really cares about it’s authors. We’re also very excited at being able to bring out some of the wonderful books we ourselves have read over the years.

We refer to ourselves as the Beverly Hills Boutique of eBook publishers. Vintage and New ebooks from award winning authors. We bring you Books You’ll Love from Books We Love.

Both of my Indian Creek mysteries have received high praise from reviewers and readers alike, and I’m excited to share them with a wider audience.

Texas Mystery Author Elizabeth Dearl says “Welcome to the world of Indian Creek, Texas, where you’ll meet some of the most amazing characters to ever grace the pages of fiction. Kelly McWinter, a retired cop who has sought out a simpler life in Indian Creek while trying to put a personal tragedy behind him. Kelly’s dog, Jake, a German Shepherd who has fought some battles of his own and is still the best partner a man could ever hope for. Anna Davis, an old woman hiding from her past whose secrets come back to haunt her.

Ms. Pittman writes with charm and style, drawing you into this small Texas community so vividly that you’ll swear you’ve been there. By the time you reach the end of this incredible novel, you’ll already be wanting more.”

Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine, Christine Speakman gave Deadly Betrayal a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, Ms. Speakman said, “We first met Kelly McWinter in “Deadly Secrets” a quick quirky mystery that worked. In Deadly Betrayal Kelly McWinter is still the loyal friend and easy-going guy and Ms. Pittman is still writing stories that work.

Mystery Maven’s, Marilyn Miller gave Deadly Secrets a rating of 5 out of 5 Stars. “If you like an entertaining mystery that will confound you until the very end, DEADLY SECRETS is for you. I highly recommend it and look forward to more from this talented storyteller”

Fallen Angel Reviews said – Deadly Secrets is a mystifying tale with several twists and turns and an ending that surprised me. This book has an old-fashioned detective story feel to it that is charming and complements the small town atmosphere … the story had a good flow, with well fleshed out characters and I would look forward to reading more suspense from this author.
