September Kindle Winner
Remember when I said that we would give one ebook reader away a month in thanks for people using the Amazon affiliate link? In August, we gave it away to a commenter in a particular thread, but in September, the device would go to a commenter who participated in any of the threads during the month of August. There were 3,462 comments left at Dear Author in the month of August. I deleted all the ones made by DA folks, all the trackbacks, and that left us with a little under 3,000 comments. The winning comment is morineko who left the following comment on the review to Changing the Game by Jaci Burton.
I’m still on chapter 2 so can’t address the particular situation in this book, but from what I can see there’s slightly more acceptance in MLB than in other sports for giving players time off for family issues as well as for emotional issues. (Also in the NBA, the Timberwolves’ Luke Ridnour missed a significant amount of time dealing with a problem with one of his newborns last season; Miller’s situation may have just been because, you know, playoffs.)
Congrats, morineko.
We need to give away a reader for the month of September and I’m thinking of doing a nook touch. I kind of like rewarding a random commenter but would be open to other suggestions. (and no, I can’t tell who is using the Amazon affiliate link, only what is purchased).
Thanks for being part of Dear Author.
Congrats, morineko.
I’ve been trying to use the Amazon and ARe links. I’m never sure if they’re working though.
I didn’t see you had one for Harlequin too. And I just spent a small fortune there with that $10 off coupon, too.
Congrats! Enjoy your new Kindle.
If you’re giving away a Nook, then it will be all but useless to anyone not in the US, so I would suggest having a specific thread for people interested in winning it.
Congratulations to the winner. This is a bit OT, but my local paper just ran a trivia contest where the questions were google-proof. They actually found 4 questions that couldn’t be found online. That’s almost unheard of today.
Congratulations!
