Sarah Morgan Giveaway

Update: Congratulations to Leigh our winner of this giveaway.

sleigh bell in the snow giveaway

In celebration of Sarah Morgan’s first full length contemporary, Sleigh Bells in the Snow, Dear Author is actually participating in a blog tour! It’s like the first one since we remade the entire site to celebrate the last of the Hunger Games trilogy. Who knew how that was going to turn out. Save us little golden bird!

Ahem. So Sunita wrote her fangirl review earlier and how could she not? Sarah Morgan writes really good contemporaries. Even when Morgan is writing within the Harlequin Presents constraints she delivers a really pro female storyline with a fairly believable conflict. And her asshole to doormat ratio is pretty even (meaning the heroine is not too much of a doormat to the hero’s asshole quotient).

Sarah Morgan’s official bio reads like this:

USA Today bestselling author Sarah Morgan writes hot, happy contemporary romance and her trademark humor and sensuality have gained her fans across the globe. Described as ‘a magician with words’ by RT Book Reviews, she has sold over 11 million copies of her books. She has been nominated three years in succession for the prestigious RITA© Award from the Romance Writers of America and won the award twice; in 2012 for her book ‘Doukakis’s Apprentice’ and 2013 for ‘A Night of No Return’. She also won the RT Reviewers’ Choice Award in 2012 and has made numerous appearances in their ‘Top Pick’ slot.

I’m pretty disappointed that the Harlequin promo materials left out Morgan’s appearance in the DABWAHA tournament. Maybe next year she’ll be in the Contemporary section of the tournament and not the category. Or maybe she’ll be a dual threat? You should read the book and tell us whether Sarah Morgan’s debut mass market knocked your socks off.

Once upon a time, Christmas was Kayla Green’s favorite time of year. Now all the workaholic wants for Christmas is for it to be over—as fast as possible! So when duty calls her to snowy Vermont to close a deal with a new client, Kayla is grateful for an excuse to avoid the holidays for another year.

Jackson O’Neil left a thriving business behind to return home and salvage his family’s resort—it’s in his blood, and he can’t let it fail. Now that he’s got marketing whiz Kayla Green working with him to put Snow Crystal on the map, success is on the horizon. The fact they strike enough sparks off each other to power all the Christmas lights in Vermont is just an added bonus.

Kayla might be an expert at her job, but she’s out of her depth with Jackson—he makes her crave the happy-ever-after she once dreamed of, and it’s terrifying. As the snowflakes continue to swirl, will the woman who doesn’t believe in the magic of Christmas finally fall under its spell?

You can enter to win 1 set of Sarah Morgan’s blog tour prize package:

  1. Snow flake earrings
  2. Copy of Sleigh Bells In the Snow
  3. Package of cute Harlequin holiday gift tags

Honestly, I live near Chicago and I’m NOT a fan of winter here, so usually my favorite thing about it is that moment (sometime in May) when it’s finally over. But I will admit that I enjoy those days when it snows too much to do anything but park myself on the couch to read all day. :-) Thanks for the fantastic give away!

I really, really hate most aspects of winter (the cold, the snow, the ice, all the salt they put on the roads to deal with the snow and ice, how congested I get from my office’s central heating, you get the idea) but I guess I like going to my in-laws for Christmas and getting spoiled by my m-i-l while my partner and I hang out in the basement and watch cable tv. My favorite thing about winter is celebrating the holidays with my loved ones (not that hanging with relatives is all snow angels and hot cocoa with mini marshmallows). For the most part, we’re a tame bunch; if my aunt is in town, she and I usually end up reading our books in companionable afternoon silence while the others horse around. On the other hand, the blow-out event of the season is my birthday, which falls between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This year I will reach a milestone so the rest of town had better look out!

Here in souther queensland, the best part about winter is the fact that all of the people who grew up here refuse to go swimming because it’s “too cold”. Beaches and swimming pools are blissfully empty. For the record, the water here in the middle of winter is still warmer than the north pacific/atlantic waters i experienced as a child in summer.

Winter in cold places- I love the smell of a crisp winter day. And I love that all of the insect life disappears for several months- that never happens here.

But to me there is something magical, especially when the snow is falling at night… It creates a warm environment to me. I love to snuggle with a book, with a warm blanket on my knees, and drink a warm cacao.
