This year, a new romance convention is being launched. The name is RomCon and it is designed to be for readers as opposed to writer conferences such as Romantic Times and RWA.
You can read more about the convention at the website. The convention takes place in Denver, Colorado July 9-11. I will be attending and have paid for my registration fee of $125.00.
The organizers for RomCon contacted me and wondered if I would host a giveaway for this event. Because a reader event is something I really believe in, I was happy to do so.
If you are interested in going, the giveaway is good for a base ticket of $125. This gets you into the conference but there is no food included. In order to attend the evening dinners or the afternoon lunches, you will need to either purchase the convention meals or provide food for yourself. You would need to register by June 15 and there is only one free ticket per person/household.
Who is going? I am. Sarah Wendell from Smart Bitches Trashy Books. Authors like Nalini Singh, Meljean Brook, Christine Feehan, Elizabeth Hoyt, Jo Beverly, Julia Quinn, CL Wilson, blogger and author, Carolyn Crane, and the list goes on.
Interested? Leave a comment and we’ll pick 20 winners and announce them on Sunday.

Love to go. I am excited to see how it turns out since its getting so much exposure. I saw Borders in my local area is even doing in store promotions.
This sounds great! I would be thrilled to attend and get the chance to meet some of my favorite authors
Holy cow – 20 winners?! How fabulous! Please count me in!
What a great giveaway! I’d be thrilled to attend!
I have to be in for something else just at that time. I’d love to extend my trip for a day and attend the conference. Please enter me! Thank you!
I can’t believe how many authors are going to be there. I love their website.
Please put me down. I’d love to attend this event. It sounded so great when I heard about it.
Wow, this is awesome. I’d love to attend the convention.
Borders is a sponsor of this convention, so it’s not surprising they’re featuring it. Good to know the promo is out there, though. :)
I’d love to come! Never been to a convention of any type so I’m curious!
I know it is unlikely and random and all of that but, please please please please please me.
This looks like a fun event – I’ve never been to a readers convention but if it gives me time to chat with my favorite authors then I’m there!
I’d love to attend. Especially for Nalini Singh!
I seem to think Yasmine Galenorn is going as well.
I wish I could go, but I just can’t swing the cost of another con this year. Sigh.
I totally wish I could go. I went to PLA (the Public Library Association) conference in Portland and used up all my spending money for the year!!!

I’ve never been to a convention before, and this would be an awesome experience. If I can meet Nalini Singh and Elizabeth Hoyt, I will die happy!
Oh! If I were a Regency-era heroine I’d be swooning right now.
I’ve had my eye on RomCon for a while now, working up the nerve to bring it up to my husband as a potential expenditure. Surely, if he goes to the BioMedical Blah Blah Whatever Conference, I should be able to do RomCon, right? I think that sounds very fair.
I would love to go. I was in Denver for WorldCon and would love to go back. :)
I have been wanting to go since I heard about it. Would LOVE to attend!
I’ve already paid my admission fee so I guess I can’t really enter but I’m really excited to attend!
How very awesome! Please enter me.
I have wanted to attend since I heard about it, but most especially after seeing that Nalini Singh is attending, unfortunately money is tight this year.
What a great idea. A convention that is fan centered, and what a great lineup!!!
I would love to attend. I need to plan a trip to Denver anyway to visit family.
I would love to go! Blogged for RomCon recently and am really impressed with their people!
Sounds cool.
That is soooo cool that you are giving away. If it were in my area there would be no question about going but registration along with room, flight etc. I couldn’t justify it. But I would figure out a way with free registration :D
I would love a chance to go. This sounds like the start of something great!
great giveaway and opportunity
Wow – very generous! thank you
That sounds like a fabulous conference! Thanks Jane! Good Luck everyone!
Teri
I would love to attend, as a reader it sounds wonderful.
I’d love to go! :)
Drop my name in the hat, please!
This is so generous. Please enter me also.
That would be cool! I can drive to Denver.
This convention looks so awesome.
Ooh, that looks nifty! And it’s not obscenely far away from me!
The con sounds awesome. Wish I could go but since RWA is at end of July, I can’t afford it, not in this economy ;-(. I really love Denver too, and meeting readers is always a pleasure.
typo in my prior email address, so requested deletion. Please include me in the drawing –would love the chance to go!
Please enter my name. Not too far away and sounds wonderful!
The more I think about this, the more I would love to go.
Sounds like fun. :) I’d like to enter my name, please.
This is sounds like a fun event. Please enter me in the drawing.
Sounds amazing. :-)
I was just about to book my airline ticket from Honolulu to Denver … but I’ll wait to register for the conference! Looking forward to the fun events and awesome authors!
I’d love to attend. What fun to meet authors and readers alike!
I would really love to attend this event, as I live in Denver. Would love to meet you as well. Thanks, Annmarie
That is super generous of you!!
Kewl! Sounds like a fun time. Pick me please.
I’ve always wanted to see Denver.
Well heck – I’m already going to two this year, but why not try for a trifecta. At least at this one I won’t have to wear a mullet wig. Consider me in for the draw :-)
Throw my name in!
I guess it didn’t post my first comment! I would love to go to this!! I actually live in Denver and really want to go but just don’t have the money for it:( I would love love love to be picked!!
Thanks!

Sounds like a party – sign me up!
Hubby just told me I am going for my birthday! We haven’t purchased our plane tickets or convention tickets yet so this would be AWESOME!!
I love romance novels and would love to go to Denver to meet my favorite authors!
It is wonderful to see a romance conference that is taking place west of the Mississippi, all the other ones are always on the east cost which makes it cost prohibitive for some of us readers to attend. Thank you for hosting it in Denver, it is a wonderful city.
Please consider me as well. I have never attended such a conference before; I would love the opportunity to meet some of my favorite authors, particularly Nalini Singh.
Hmm, never done a convention (of any kind) before, though I’ve wanted to a few times. The gears are spinning, trying to figure out how to sweet talk hubby into something like this. :)
Me, me! Would love to go.
Put my name in the hat please. This con is actually close enough to where I live that the rest of costs of attending would be feasible. Sounds like it could be a good time.
Count me in. I’ve never attended conferences related to books so this would definitely be an interesting trip.
Thanks for hosting this contest!
I’ve been on the fence about going to this one…I even have a post-it on the last day to register on my calendar :) It sounds like such a goo dway to spend the weekend!
I think this is a great giveaway! Such great authors to see and hear from! sign me up, now I just have to figure out how to get there :)
Sounds like FUN!
I think the idea of a reader based convention is great and would love to go. Count me in.
I’d love to attend!!
Aside – noticed last week there is another Joy here now!! Never happens in RL :-)
I’d love to go. What a fantastic giveaway!
Even with 20 winners, this will probably wind up being one of those contests where my chance of winning is about equal to the chance I will be struck by lightning, but if I don’t comment my chance is zero; even minimal odds are better than that. I attended the authors’ booksigning at RWA in DC last year and had a wonderful time: stood in line with Lydia Joyce and admired her daughter, discovered new authors as I walked down the aisles (e.g., Kristan Higgins), and was charmed in person by some authors who had previously only charmed me in print (MJP, Madeline Hunter, Karen Rose). I’d love to have the opportunity to attend RomCon and duplicate that experience.
This sounds like such a fun event. I have already contacted by BGF to see if she wants to go. Would love to win a chance.
I think this sounds like a great event. I hope to be there.
Sounds like a fun time.
I’d love to go to this!
Oh, It would be fantastic to win!
Thank you for hosting this contest, Jane. Winning a free ticket would be wonderful.
The only conferences I have ever been to are professional, and I’d love to attend one for romance novels, which I take at least as seriously as my career. Crossing my fingers here!
I would love to go to RomCom. ^^ So many of my favorite authors are going to be there. I’ve never gone to a conference, yet. I’m already recruiting others to join me when/if I go.
I would love to go to RomCom…hope to see many authors if I get a chance to go.
I I were going to RomCom. YOu are so lucky. Hope you have a great time. Thanks for having this contest!
I’d like to go, too. I’ve never been to a conference before.
I would love to be entered! I live in Colorado so could easily attend and winning the tickets would make it an easy sell to my husband (since I would then just have to buy the meal tickets and maybe a hotel night).
I would love to attend RomCon and meet all the fabulous authors that will be there :)
Enter me in the contest please. Sounds great!
I would soooooooo love to go! Add me to the list please!
I would love to go. It’d be my first conference!
I have seen the advertising at my local Borders and gone to the website. This looks like an interesting conference and I would love to win a ticket.
I really wanted to go!! Unfortunately I couldn’t afford the entire package. This would be such a great blessing!
I’m sorry to go off topic here: It is really a bummer that the spouse/guest registration can’t be paid on an a la carte fashion the way the reader registration is set up so readers may elect to bring a spouse/guest for just one dinner, for example. I am so tempted to go to this convention, but I’d want to make this a family trip as my BIL lives in Denver. If I were to go I’d probably skip most of the meals so I could have them with my family; it would be great to be able to attend just one of the dinners with DH. But with $175 the only option for spouse/guest registration, that would not be doable. :(
I would love to win a free registration — have been reading romances for more than 25 years and it would be wonderful to attend a convention
Sounds amazing! It would be so much fun to attend.
This sounds like a great conference to attend!
