I love Susanna Kearsley! Her books are so well-written and emotionally satisfying. I’m notoriously crusty but she’s even made tears come into my eyes (very rare indeed – I didn’t even cry when ET phoned home). I hope Sourcebooks plans to reissue some of her older/OOP titles. There are a few I haven’t read that I’m dying to get my hands on without going bankrupt. I’d love to check out Terry Spears and Sarah Castille too; I love a good shifter book and MMA fighters = hot.

  64. Megan B
    Aug 20, 2013 @ 12:25:28

I don’t have a favorite author (too many that I’ve only read one book of and feel like I can’t judge a whole author based on one book) but I have a favorite Sourcebooks book: Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife. It’s great! Also, the fact that they have an entire section of their website devoted to Jane Austen Sequels is oddly amusing to me.

  65. srs
    Aug 20, 2013 @ 12:38:39

I don’t really pay attention to the publisher. The only Sourcebooks author I can think of off the top of my head is Georgette Heyer, since they did those re-issues recently (which were lovely and I bought several of them). I guess Susanna Kearsley, but that feels like cheating even more than saying Heyer, because I only know she’s a Sourcebooks author because of this post ;).

  66. snarly
    Aug 20, 2013 @ 12:38:57

hm, my favorite sourcebooks authors are daphne du maurier, geoff harbach and nicole hollander. i’m thinking this is a weird combo. (or testament to a diverse pub list!)

  69. Nicole
    Aug 20, 2013 @ 12:47:27

    Fingers crossed!

For readers who like young adult books, well-written books, or 80s books, I highly recommend Eleanor and Park. I led a teen book club discussion of this book, and it kept us talking for over an hour – and on topic! This is pretty unheard of for my group. For those who don’t like cursing, be warned that there’s tons.

  70. Pria
    Aug 20, 2013 @ 12:47:35

In love with Sarah Castille for sure.. I have so many other authors I love but it’s hard to keep track which publishers they’re with ;)

I guess my favorite depends on the mood I am in at the time. I read a huge variety of books and love authors including Olivia Cunning, Sara Humphreys, Grace Burrowes, Shana Galen, Ashlyn Chase, Lynda Dare, Elisabeth Naughton, and so, so many more :)
