  26. Kanoko
    Jul 22, 2014 @ 05:56:25

I have never owned an Apple product, ever (yes, not even an iPod), so I’m largely unfamiliar with apps. Probably something my office has worked on, so something that increases in-house productivity.

  61. Shelagh
    Jul 22, 2014 @ 07:36:09

I think it would have to be the BBC iPlayer. I’ve tried the Kindle app but reading on a tablet makes my eyes very tired, very quickly. Working shifts, I rarely get it together to watch TV (I never know what day it is, never mind what’s on when) but love to catch up on the night shift during quiet times.

  62. Stacey
    Jul 22, 2014 @ 07:37:21

  87. SusanK
    Jul 22, 2014 @ 08:39:42

Candy Crush or Minion Rush. Thanks!

  88. Sola

  99. MrsJoseph
    Jul 22, 2014 @ 09:07:06

The first app I would install is Book Collectorz. I love my BC app and I use it all the time – its really great when I’m book shopping and I don’t have a paper list with me. I just pull out BC and click on my wishlist. *love*

I know the popular answer is the kindle app and that would definitely be second for me, but the first app I’d install would be Proloquo2go. It’s a communication app that allows my non-verbal severely autistic child to express her wants and needs. They introduced it in the classroom this year and we were elated. It really opens up her world.

Jeez, a single app, when there are so many good ideas already suggested here from which to choose? (I’ve already opened multiple browser tabs to research the apps that are new to me!) I do own an ebook reader, so – with no experience of apps – I suppose that I’d start with a map, er … app, for travel convenience. And learn more of what I like by trial.

Is there a Dear Author app ????????

Hey, Jane, sincere THANKS for the giveaway offer!

Netflix first, based on my niece’s recommendation. I’ve never used itunes or an apple device after a short fling with an apple IIe in college. You know, back in the last century, when phones had those weird “dial” things.

The only iThing I have is an iPhone…. DD guards her iPad like a hungry seagull guarding a stash of cockles, so I haven’t had a chance to really check it out. So, presuming the iPad Mini already comes with an iBooks app, next app I’d install would be the Kindle app. Then I’d be checking to see if BlueFire Reader had an app for iThings. Yeah, avid reader who goes nowhere without a book or her kindle….

Paprika – it’s a recipe database that’s really great. Hubby & I cook a lot, and this is a great tool for recipe tracking. You can import directly from websites and email recipes to friends from right inside the app. That is probably the 1st app I’d load, since the iPad comes pre-loaded with all the basics. Plus, my very old 1st generation iPad is very nearly dead… so a new mini would be great!

Definitely the kindle app. Can’t live without it and would be holed up for a month reading books with retina display. :)

What’s an app? Just kidding. Kinda. I barely know what an app is — that’s why I need an iPad. To actually join the 21st century. But of course I would get the Kindle app. (Is that what it’s called? The Kindle app?)
