Giveaway Details and Winners

Sometime in July, I got this harebrained idea that we would do a giveaway festival here at DA. I asked a few and then I thought I’d open it up to others so we would get a variety of books.  I whipped up a form for authors to submit and it kind of got away from me. We had over 70+ authors and publishers want to participate.

To make it feasible to run this thing, I decided to do a rafflecopter for each individual author or publisher giveaway.  Ned and I spent one whole weekend creating the rafflecopters.  Thank you, Ned!

I like to use rafflecopters because it picks winners for you using random.org and you can open and close the contest automatically. Most of the rafflecopters are open for 3 days. There have been some variations because of user (me) error.

The contests are run like this. Author offers up a prize and promotional language. We create the rafflecopter.  You, the commenters and visitors, come and enter the contests.  When the contests end, I go into the rafflecopter site, allow the program to pick the winners.  The winners are then announced on the rafflecopter.  I collect the emails of the winners and those are sent to the authors who are in charge of contacting the winners.

To see if you have won, return to the rafflecopters you have entered.

Pretty easy, right?  My recommendation is to check back daily because we have new winners and new contests every day.  Here’s a handy bookmark for you. It’s the tag for all the giveaways.

    A couple of the rafflecopters, like the Jaci Burton one, say the contest is over, but don’t give the winners.

    @Jane:

    Legally Undercover and all contests from Day 9 onwards are having the same ‘issue’ AFAIK (but then I don’t know how many days you let each contest run). :)

    Thanks for doing this Jane – it’s been fun so far. For Day 9, winners are listed for only two of the three giveaways – the last one, Tamara Hogan’s, isn’t showing winners.

    ETA – same issue for day 8 – Rachel Kall’s giveaway isn’t showing the winners (but the winners for the other authors are listed).

    The August 5 giveaway is showing me as the winner, but the number attached to my name is someone else. I assume the number is probably the correct winner?

    Just curious about what happens for individuals who have won the same contest multiple times. I looked at one contest where at least 3 people won twice and one name appeared three times. Do they get multiple copies of the same book?

    @Jane:
    None of the giveaway winners from day thirteen are showing up, and, as others have pointed out, the Rachel Kall giveaway from day eight and the Tamara Hogan giveaway from day nine are not showing winners either.

    Hi

    Not sure how to tell if the Emma D in the Samhain contest is me or not. Worried if it is me that the email might be sent to spam.

    Thanks

    Emma
