GIVEAWAY: December Device Giveaway

As promised, December’s Device Giveaway is an iPad Mini. I really love my own Mini. It’s the right size for surfing, reading and well, playing Candy Crush. I’m sure you can find better uses for it.

Everyone here at Dear Author wants to thank you for reading us, commenting, and recommending us to other readers. Next year we are having a site redesign but we’ll be bringing you the same content–reviews, news, deals, and opinion pieces–every day.  If you have a suggestion on how Dear Author could be better, send me an email at [email protected]

How can someone decide between so many beautiful books? But if I have to mention one, it would probably be the newest Kate Daniels.

Oh my gosh, there are sooo many wonderful, delightfully, smutty books that I have read this year… but if I had to say what my favorite one was……… Well, damn, I thought I could answer this easily… Okay, there a lot of books out there that I thoroughly enjoyed and loved… Slow Burn by Anne Marsh is one of my favorite, 187 When Court Fails by Wade Halverson, Lauren Dane – The Brown family series (any one). Okay so I could not do just one and I could go on….

Bare Knuckle, Vegas Top Guns #5 by Katie Porter.
This was the culmination of a fabulously hot, dirty and surprisingly emotional series. It blew me away.

My favorite book I read this year (discounting all re-reads of anything by Terry Pratchett) was The Dark Monk: A Hangman’s Daughter Tale. There’s something about Pötzsch’s way with words that I love.

Slyvia Day’s – the stranger I married – it made me cry so much when in the beginning the woman he fancies dies.

Loved, loved, LOVED Elizabeth Hoyt’s latest in the Maiden Lane series, The Duke of Midnight. Though I did spend a good half hour going around muttering, “He’s being such an a$$hole!” (I was listening to the audio on my iPod, and sad to say my kids barely batted an eyelash at the crazy mom muttering to herself while she made dinner). He managed to come around at the end, though, fortunately.

    Sooooo good.

I just found dearauthor.com and am excited about having another source for book reviews. Narrowing my favorite book for 2013 to one would be difficult. I read each In Death novel from J.D. Robb and enjoy watching the interactions of Eve Dallas and other characters. I discovered Cat Johnson and liked her Red, Hot & Blue novel, Trey. Probably my favorite of the bunch is either The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After (a selection of 2nd epilogues after the Bridgeton series) by Julia Quinn or The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James.
