Exclusive Cover Reveal: Nalini Singh Archangel’s Shadows

I wish I could say that I have this on my Kindle and I’m reading it right now. Alas…no. But I have stared at the cover for a while since I received it last night. I love that Ashwini is not depicted as a blonde haired, blue eyed Scandinavian but matches her in-book description.  And yeah, Janvier, you look nice, too.

Archangel's Shadows

Return to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s sensual and painfully beautiful Guild Hunter world in her new novel of sacrifice, loyalty, and the choices of love that can shatter the heart.

In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot—should not—be walking the streets.

This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves…

Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.

You can find Nalini Singh here:

Now, the first question I asked was when the release date was. November 2014 is the answer. WHAT???? That’s so far away. To appease us, Berkley and Nalini Singh are offering up a complete set of the Archangel series, in paper, to be shipped anywhere. Yes, anywhere. AND 1 Advanced Reader’s Copy of Shield of Winter (here’s why you want to read this book)

If I could have wings they would be a deep red with gold filaments. Maybe some kind of female version of Illium. What shall I say Bluebell is my favourite.

    Hey all,

The cover is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! I am in awe. GH series is one of the few series whose cover dont make me avoid reading them in public :)

Wings wise, I would like to be a degrade colour of green like Mahyia’s minus the blue.

  15. Nicole
    Mar 07, 2014 @ 14:04:32

If I could have wings, I’d want them to be able to support my body weight, but still not take up too much space (because I’m considerate like that). I’d like the pattern to replicate this missoni dress:

  32. Nikki Noffsinger
    Mar 07, 2014 @ 16:28:15

I haven’t been a huge fan of angel themed books but I was hooked from the first Guild Hunter book and I am thrilled that Ash has her own book! I mean c’mon, we’re talking about Javier here. What woman living or fanged wouldn’t want a laid back smexy looking Cajun?

  33. Texas Book Lover

  46. Pallavi
    Mar 07, 2014 @ 22:55:27

Blue as Bluebells’ blue would be my wings… Or blue as the sky around me so that I would look like I was floating

  47. Patrizia
    Mar 07, 2014 @ 23:19:43

My wings would be a combination of blue and grey, like Raphael’s and Elena’s eyes. :)

  48. kitkat9000
    Mar 07, 2014 @ 23:31:50

Thanks for the contest. I have most of the series in ebook but actually prefer dead tree. So lookingforward Ashwini & Janvier’s story.

If it’s okay to sound like someone else, I would like wings with an ombre effect from cobalt to turquoise (had a silk shirt like this years ago and loved it) adding a silver trim on the feathers a la Ilium. However, they would probably overwhelm my little wren-like self and actually end up being something pale and beige/brown. But really, who cares? I would be FLYING!!!

  49. Kathy
    Mar 08, 2014 @ 03:56:57

Wings, either a dark indigo that drips into flame, or a silver/black that switches depending on the light hitting it. Pattern not needed with those!

  50. Lynn K.
    Mar 08, 2014 @ 04:10:49

Honestly? I don’t know. I love waay too many color/pattern combinations.
Heck, I have to spend half and hour deciding on which mug to buy and they were just simple colored ones.

    Mar 08, 2014 @ 04:37:30

So excited… Archangel’s Shadows will be an awesome birthday present! (My birthday is near the end of November :D)

I would love to have wings so black that they would have purple highlights under the right light that would shade into indigo/amethyst and then a deep, rich sapphire at the primaries and secondaries. Some flecks of amber and bronze throughout would not go amiss, either.

    Mar 08, 2014 @ 05:40:07

I love the Psy-Changeling books, but still need to read the Guild Hunter series. Love all the covers especially this newest one…very refreshing to see cover models that apparently match the actual character descriptions.

I would probably want wings that were dark purple (almost black) with silver tips.

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!!

    Mar 08, 2014 @ 13:51:41

AHHHH ONE MORE STEP CLOSER!! Though I’m not that big a fan of Ashwini and Janvier (don’t..really care about their merry go round kind of relationship), there’s gonna be more Elena/Raphael action and that’s good enough. *sigh*

Omgg! That’s the question I kept asking myself back when I read Angel’s Blood!! Haha, I finally settled with white wings with blue and silver at the part where the wings flow into the shoulders/back but it’s a slow gradient out into the whites. Like rays of the sun but blue and silver on a white background. ;)

  59. Shannon C
    Mar 08, 2014 @ 14:04:59

If I had wings, I would like them to be orange, red, yellow, gold, and white and have a pattern of flame so that eveytime they flex or arson flight it would look like fire.
