The LiveJournal community of “Found Objects” posted this awesome 1965 publication “The Recently Deflowered Girl” with illustrations.
Set aside about 30 minutes and all beverages. I would like to see a recreation of this for all romance sub-genres. Thanks bec and others for the linkage.

What a find! LOL at the illustrations. Page 21′s has a bulging crotch and flipper feet .

Incredible gem! I have two Gorey-illustrated books, with text by T. S. Eliot and John Ciardi, but I’ll take Juffe’s text over theirs any day!

I adore Gorey’s books. I have a couple of omnibus editions of some some of his books– Amphigorey and Amphigory, too. The Beastly Baby is one of my favorites. These books which are oversized collections are really quite reasonable on Alibris.com if anyone wants to check out a delightfully twisted soul.

I was about to mention copyright, but Ann beat me to it. Mind you, now I want to buy a copy to give to friends … but the $100+ price tag is prohibitive. Maybe as a wedding present. lol

Hilarious – and the advice at the bottom in response to these situations – no wonder you told us to hold the beverages. If I had been drinking I’d have it dripping down the screen, all over my keyboard, and frying my laptop. And the editor really hopes this guide will be beneficial to the daughters of the new generation as it was to their mothers? I hope that was meant ironically or the troubled youth will be so much more troubled.

I’ve seen the whole thing as soon as Jane posted the link but now it is indeed gone. From what I’ve read on other sites who managed to save some of it before it disappeared, the entry has been deleted. Probably due to the book piracy thing.
