Podcast #26 – An Interview with Sylvia Day

We’re back! We sat down with author Sylvia Day in a very fuzzy soundproof room at Penguin, along with her editor, Cindy Hwang, and publicist of awesomeness, Erin Galloway, and had a grand time talking about Bared to You, Day’s earlier novellas, and her goals for her presidency of RWA.

Here are the books we mention:

You can learn more about Sylvia Day’s books and novellas at her website.

If you have content suggestions, tips on how to do this whole thing better, or general wtf-ery comments, email us. It’s all welcome because a) we are new to this and b) we don’t really know what we are doing so the wtf comments are probably all valid. The email address for the podcast is [email protected].

Thanks to Sarah, Cindy, Erin and Sylvia, and to Sassy Outwater, who provided the music for this podcast. The track is called “Percolator” and it’s by The Hanuman Collective from their album Pedal Horse. You can find them at iTunes as well.

If you like the Podcast, you can subscribe to our feed, or find us at iTunes. You can also find us at PodcastPickle.

You can email us at [email protected], or you can call and leave us a message at our Google voice number: 201-371-DBSA. Please don’t forget to give us a name and where you’re calling from so we can work your message into our next podcast.

Future podcasts are in the works, and I’m going to try to bring Ye Olde Phallic Yeti Microphone with me to RWA so I can do some short interviews – NOT in the bar, though. Duh. In the meantime, hope you enjoy the podcast!

This interview got me seriously interested in reading Bared to You.

Any chance of a transcript? I can read so much faster than I can listen. I love the idea of podcasts but have a hard time fitting them into my harried daily life.

@Dabney: No I am sorry, it is not likely Sarah nor I can transcribe these podcasts. It’s hard enough to find time to actually records these podcasts!

I love the podcasts and it was fun to hear such a lengthy interview with Sylvia Day with just a little tease of what is coming up in book 2.

I hope the interview will knock on the head the idea that BtY is a 50 rip off. Well, it probably won’t but I can dream… :)

@Dabney: I suggest listening when cooking, driving or doing your housework – that’s what I do :)

It’s unnatural how excited I am for each new podcast you guys put out.

Seriously you guys should turn this into a daily radio broadcast. Instead of Sportstalk radio with Mike and Mike – Romance Book talk radio with Jane and Sarah – it would a massive hit!

@Stephanie Doyle: “It’s unnatural how excited I am for each new podcast you guys put out.” – Same here. I listen to them at work sometimes and drive my coworkers crazy with outbursts of laughter when they have no idea what’s so damn funny! Sarah and Jane are a hoot =D

I always enjoy the author interviews (the one with Nalina Singh has to be my favorite), and this one was no different. I want to read Bared to You but I’m thinking I should till Gideon and Eva’s story is complete.
