USA Today Besteller List, Week Ending February 4, 2007

This might have well been romance week. There were a ton of romances on the list this week along with some new faces.

Irish Dreams, Nora Roberts (Silh Special Releasees), $7.99, No. 2 (Peak 2). Last week it was 150 and this week it’s 2.
Most Likely To Die, Lisa Jackson, Beverly Barton, Wendy Corsi Staub (Zebra),$7.99 No. 5
Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood, Ann Brashares (Delacorte Books for Young Readers), $18.99, No. 6 (Peak 2)
McKettrick’s Luck, Linda Lael Miller (HQN), $7.99, No. 8 (Peak 8). Last week it was 141.
Bridge to Terabithia, Katherine Paterson (HarperEntertainment), $6.99. No. 9 (Peak 9). Bookseller friend tells me this book has an uber tragic ending.
Plum Lovin’, Janet Evanovich, (St. Martin’s Press), $16.95 No. 11, (Peak 1)
The Winter Lodge, Susan Wiggs (MIRA), $7.99, No. 13 (Peak 13).
What Price Love?, Stephanie Laurens (Avon), $7.99, No. 15. And I questioned why she was being put out in hardcover again, but she still sells really well.

What A Lady Wants, Victoria Alexander (Avon), $6.99 (Peak 18).
Bite Me If You Can, Lynsay Sands (Avon), $6.99 (Peak 21). Didn’t Sands incorporate her editors, particularly Chris Keesler into this series? Did she write them out when she moved from Dorchester to Avon?
Angels All Over Town, Luanne Rice (Bantam), $7.50, No. 22
Point Blank, Catherine Coulter (Jove), $7.99, No.24, (Peak 3)
Speak No Evil, Allison Brennan (Ballantine Books), $6.99, No. 26. I bought this book and others of hers but haven’t read them. Must read these books.

Kissing Sin, Keri Arthur (Dell), $6.99, No. 29. This is the follow up to Full Moon Rising (Riley Jensen Series) and it is the first of a three book series to be released in the next three months. I’ve read it. I’m confused by it. Will be reading the next ones.
All Night Long, Jayne Ann Krentz (Jove), $7.99, No. 33.
Blood Bound, Patricia Briggs (Ace), $7.99, No. 36 (Peak 35). Come on, people. This is a good book.

Gone, Lisa Gardner (Bantam), $7.99, No. 45, (Peak 7)
How to Abduct a Highland Lord, Karen Hawkins (Pocket), $6.99, No. 49.

Dead Sexy, Amanda Ashley (Zebra), $6.99, No. 59.
Stealing Home, Sherryl Woods (Mira), $6.99, No. 61.
White Lies, Jayne Ann Krentz (Putnam), $24.95, No. 63 (Peak 18). Again, this is a surprise for me but for some reason I am not compelled to buy this book either.
The Stranger in Her Bed, Janet Chapman (Pocket Star), $6.99, No. 73
The Nymph King, Gena Showalter (HQN), $6.99, No. 75
Slow Burn, Julie Garwood (Ballantine Books), $7.99, No. 78, (Peak 5). This one fell fast.
Heart of Texas, Debbie Macomber (Mira), $13.95, No. 89.
Sun Kissed, Catherine Anderson (Signet), $7.99, No. 93, (Peak 11)

Causing Havoc, Lori Foster (Berkley), $7.99, No. 107
Sweet Home Carolina, Patricia Rice (Ballantine Books), $6.99, No. 108. Rice wrote one of my favorite romance books, Blue Clouds. Why don’t I read more of her work?

Twilight, Stephenie Meyer (Little, Brown), $8.99, No. 115, (Peak 75)
The Boleyn Inheritance, Philippa Gregory (Touchstone), $25.95, No. 117, (Peak 36)

Bridge to Terabithia is a great middle school book. The ending is tragic and I cry every time I read it. I am very leery of this new movie, it looks like there are veering away from the true heart of the story which is about friendship.
    Ugh!
