Long before there were written words that formed books, there were storytellers. Bards, skalds, folklorists told satires, recounted legends, and preserved the historical events of the time by traveling from castle to keep to village. In an attempt to preserve the oral tradition of storytelling, particularly in regions where the written word isn’t so freely available, UNICEF and One Laptop Per Child have created a story database where recordings of oral stories can be uploaded.
