Two more ePublishers are Moonlit Romance and By Grace epublishing are closing as of Dec 31st. Both are owned by the same person operating under the umbrella of Unique Enterprises. My understanding is that these two epublishers have been in business since 2006. The plan was to sell titles through December ’09 while ending its publication arm. However, the news is now that the site will close down on December ’08 instead. Authors will have their rights returned and any royalties paid in full.
No specific reason was given for the closing of these businesses and there certainly isn’t any hint of anything untoward. If you have been a long time reader of Dear Author, you’ll know that we have developed a certain skepticism toward new epublishers due to the fact we’ve seen both new and established epublishers shut down for a variety of reasons, including personal ones.
I have a few titles with By Grace, and have no problem with the way they are closing their doors.
I’m with Robin. I think you can chalk this one up to the brutal economy. I can state that these were very nice, very professional people to work with and I have been a happy author with them through three books. I’m sorry to see them fold.
