    Hey Ja(y)nes

Am I reading this wrong? Please say I am.

After Vishous and Phury, no new books in 2008 and then the Rev in 2009.

If that’s true than it stinks big time. I guess I’m excited for her to go hardcover, but I doubt I will be buying them till they comeout in paperback. Nora is my only hardcover purchase. Sorry to say that, but harcover is too Damn expensive.

Jenn L – I changed the post. It is Vishous’ book, then Phury’s in 2008. Phury’s is the only book we’ll get in 2008 and then Rhevenge’s in 2009.

Well, I guess this solves the mystery around whether or not the series will extend beyond the existing Brothers — I mean, why make the shift so late in the game unless the series will go on . . . and on.

The one series I absolutely don’t hesitate to purchase in hardcover is Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackouse series. I buy other series books in HB, too, but Harris’s series is the only one I’m actually HAPPY to spend those bucks on.

I’m crushed. Waiting for the Brothers to come out in paperback will be torture for me, and my librarian already told me if I came to her with another halfway through a series request she was going to slap me. :)

I’m crushed too! It’s hard and expensive enough for me to get the books here (in Haiti) and now she goes HC in the MIDDLE OF THE !@#$% SERIES!!!!!!!!!!

When, WHEN will I get the mmpb, at this rate, 2010????? And now I’m down to 1 bk/yr, no fair!!!!!

I really, really hate that. Didn’t Brockmann pull a stunt like that? I can’t buy HC, that’s like the budget for 3 books. My exchange rate is murderous.

Really not fair to the fans like me who have to watch every dime. Will I have the patience to stick around for the orginal 10 bks or not? Especially since she already said it was getting longer…

Looks like I’m the odd one out here, but I’m glad they’re coming out in hardback. I’ll still probably be buying the paperbacks when they’re released for ease of portability and all that — but I love having my favorites in hardcover. :)

I wonder if there are any plans to reprint the first books in the series in hardback. I hope so, as it really annoys me to have favorite series in different formats. :P

Nonny I hate that too. And didn’t think to ask. I have a short Q&A going up on Tuesday with Jessica Bird.

Honestly I didn’t ask anything about the HC and it is a VERY short Q&A (7 questions.) since I have a few days before it goes up I will see if she knows.

But one thing to keep in mind is the author has nothing to do with if they release in Hard cover or mass market.

Another thing to keep in mind it isn’t that we will get no books from her… there are at least two more SSE in the new trilogy (LOVED the first one) and she is going to appear in an antho as well as start a new series.

Yes I know what you are thinking. I have no clue but hope she can do it, having finished The Billionaire Next Door today and having LOVED it. Well I think she can but hey color me a fangrrl.

    Jul 21, 2007 @ 01:01:59

    Sybil: Thanks for asking!! :D

Yeah, I know it’s not in the author’s control (like many things ^_^). Though, given how successful J. R. Ward’s books have been, one would think she might have a bit more leeway with publishers than your everyday midlist author. (Might.) :)

I haven’t read any of her work as Jessica Bird, as I generally dislike contemporaries. (I come to romance from fantasy, see.) I’ll have to look them up sometime.

I wish I hadn’t discovered this series until all the books were out. I hate it when I’m plowing through a series then hit a brick wall. =\

I am positively itching to read the rest of these.

So, yay to Rhev getting his own book. I never really cared for him until after Phury’s book, now I cant wait! I’m one of the people that will buy the book the day it comes out (hard-cover, paperback, braille—honestly, however it’s published first, I’m there).

And, don’t we all know by now who John is? However, if we don’t, I’ll just say that it’s my favourite character and she should skip everyone and jump right to him! Of course, since he’s my favourite, it’ll be the last one…figures.

I dont rly care if they are HC or PB, as long as i get to read the books, then i’m good.
im rly excited about the 7th book! im SO addicted to The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Its adventurous, romantic, funny, entrancing and so much more. I visit alot of websites that talk about the series and alotta people out there keep bitching that they dont like it much any more, well to hell with them…J R Ward is the BEST damn author I have ever read, her books keep me on the edge of my seat, and well entertained, she is damn good at what she does and if those people have any more complaits, they can take em’ and shoving em’ up their asses!
I look forward to reading her next book, paper backed or hardcover, i dont care, if i cant buy it i will borrow it from a library, either way, the second it hits the shelves, IM READING IT!!!!
    (V rulz!)

I’ve got a curious question. I’m fairly new to this series, having just purchased Lover Unbound about a month ago from a Goodwill…go figure. Best $1.50 I ever spent, and I only purchased it because I found the cover intriguing. As soon as I read it (in less than 24 hours) I immediately went on-line and ordered every other book and read them all in less than a week. Needless to say, I’m addicted. But here’s my question…the book I bought at the Goodwill was indeed HC already. I even looked for the rest in HC until I did a little research and discovered that they weren’t available. I love HC, especially for this particular series. Any idea how I got my hands on a hard cover Vischous, since apparently they don’t exsist, and any ideas as to how I can get the rest in HC as well? By the by, I am with everyone else…hurry up already! I’m going into shock! Thanks, Jess

Jessi, is it possible that your hardcover is a book club edition?

Like Robin, the ONLY series I gladly put down money for hardcover is the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Beyond that, it’s few and far between. For this series? I’ll definitely be skipping the hardcovers.

I love these books. Just finished Lover Enshrined. Just have a few thoughts and was wondering if anyone else felt the same way…
I was disappointed in the absence of V and Butch in this one. They were pretty prominent in all the others except in this one, nothing. We just found out that together they are the Destroyer and the Savior. That they are together for a reason, a higher calling. I was itching for the development of these 2 in regards to the Destroyer Prophesy and the asskicking these 2 could dish out! But there was barely even a mention of them in this book.
Tohr’s book should be next, not Rehv, he isn’t even a brother. I am not interested in Rehv as a brother right now. I want to hear Tohr’s story and have him rejoin his brothers and develop John.
Phury needs to be back in the brotherhood and back in the mansion where he belongs. The brothers need him as a warrior not a babysitter for the Chosen. Move him and Cormia back in and give him his daggers back!
Let Blay move in with the Chosen and protect them. Give him one of those cool watches that V gave Butch so he can call for help but get Phury back with his brothers.

I’ve got a little obsession, all the books in one series that I buy must be from the same edition (I hate when they don’t look the same on the bookshelf)… So they better publish the 7th one matching or I’ll go crazy :-(
Yeah I agree with Yvette, need to know more about the Destroyer and the Savior…and what’s with that angel guy? Where did that come from, I got all confused…

I agree with all, I can’t believe an author would introduce and develop a character so deeply in depth, then not finish the story! I really want to know about Thorment, Terror(John) Xhex, Blay, Quinn, Revhenge, and even that sick @+* Lash!

I too was disappointed in the absence of V and Butch in Lover Enshrined. I really like V. I was also wondering…if he’s with a “ghost” now… who does he feed from? It never mentions anything like that. And who is Z feeding from since Bella cannot in her last trimester? I was also confused with the introduction of the angel. Nonethless, I LOVE this series and cannot wait for the next. I feel as though I’m at a standstill. These characters have been racing through my mind day in and day out…and now i have to W-A-I-T. uuggghhh. I am wondering whether the brothers will ever realize who John Matthew is? and whats with V’s twin? She sounds dangerous. She may just be the weapon they need against Lash. With Lash’s black heart who knows if a simple stab to the heart will make him POOF.

I’m just as excited as all of you about Rhev’s book! It’s unfortunate about it coming out on HC but I haven’t started collecting the series, just borrowing from a friend (who I got hooked on the books). It’s supposed to come out Jan ’09 but does anyone know the specific day? Oh well I still have a pile of books to keep me busy ’til it comes out!

  33. Krista
    Jan 28, 2009 @ 13:04:52

Rachel~V wouldn’t be able to feed off of Jane whether she was a ghost or not, because she is/was human. Same with Rhage and Mary. They will use one of the Chosen (Rhage feeds off of Layla, the same Chosen who helped John through his transision.) I’m sure that’s what Zsadist does while Bella is in those final stages of her pregnancy.

I’m so excited to read the next book! I can’t wait!!!

All I know is the series needs to continue to develop all the characters. I love this series and can’t wait for more books. I will buy no matter if they are hard cover or not…..Just continue writing and develop the series……

I just bought the insiders guide…the story of Z and Nalla is wonderful….can’t wait till April 2009

Just to put it out there – I’m so totally stoked that they’re making a hardcover book for Rehv! :)
Although I have all the others in paper back, I love myself a nice strong hardback book! I can’t wait to read more on John and Xhex though too!
More info about Blay and Quinn would be pretty hot also ;D haha

I do get a little confused about all of the brothers. I think maybe I should go back and reread the books. My son is also hooked on the books and I share with him as I started the series 1st and I had forgotten what books he likes to read. He has kind of got hooked on the vampire books too and so I share some of my favorite authors with him. The only thing I hate about the h/c is that they are so heavy. I am elderly (70) and with the paper backs I could read them in bed, but not the hard cover. I can’t hardly wait for her next book to come out. It looks like some of you have figured out about John, I don’t know who he is.
