Sony Reader has released a cover for the Sony Reader that contains an integrated light. It’s like the Light Wedge and runs off two AA batteries. It’s a beautifully elegant solution and I would love to see one of these suckers in person. Click on the MobileRead link to see the picture.
One thing that this shows is that Sony is listening to its customer base and that the Kindle is making Sony more competitive. The cost is $69.99.

A reading light that costs $70 USD, for hardware that costs $300? I’m laughing like Vizzini (before he drank the Iocaine-laced wine of course).
Combined with the earlier anouncement about the ePub format, the Sony is looking up. I wonder how long it will take the Kindle to get on board.
But crap, doesn’t work with the PRS-500, which is the one I have. Hmph.
Oh no, Nicole. That’s too bad. It seems like it is just a software update and that seems unfair.
Well, they moved around some of the buttons for the new version. Oh well.
I have heard that it’s not too bright…. here’s a review.. I have been researching this thing like crazy. $70.00 is a lot drop if it doesn’t perform well…
