Self Publishers Merge
AuthorHouse and iUniverse are joining together in self publishing matrimony. AuthorHouse is acquiring iUniverse to be more competitive against newcomers such as Lulu.com and Amazon’s newly conceived CreateSpace. There appear to be no staff reductions, changes in locations (AuthorHouse is based in Indiana and iUniverse in NY) and no reduction of title output. Between the two houses, 900-1000 books are published each month. 0_0. (that’s eye googling in netspeak).

Especially when you consider how few staff these companies have–Lulu has less than 150 all told.
