Running With Scissors Claimed to Be Full of Falsities
The movie, with Annette Benning, looks hysterical, but Augusten Burrough’s book, Running with Scissors, is under attack. The Turcotte family filed a defamation suit in 2005 against the publisher, editor, agent, and author. The Turcotte’s claim that the memoirs are fabricated and sensationalized. Buzz Bissinger wrote the piece entitled, Ruthless with Scissors, and it will appear in the January 2006 Vanity Fair. Via Publishers Weekly.
