Publishers’ Weekly is up on the auction block and its causing some internal turmoil. David Rothman of Teleread.org got the notice that the ebook blog will be put on hold. A few months ago, PW blogger, Barbara Vey mentioned that her editor got laid off, and now I wonder how long Ms. Vey’s Beyond Her Book will remain a part of PW. I think it was awfully nice to have a blog on PW dedicated to romance books so we’ll see where this takes us.

I read the ebook blog and saw that post today. I thought it was unfortunate .
I was so happy to find out that PW was finally reaching out to readers instead of just industry people through blogs like Barbara’s. It would be very unfortunate to lose that connection. I think Barbara brings a real sense of community to PW’s site–and, I’m sure even more importantly to the higher-ups, a number of loyal return visitors.
