Publishers Move Toward Targeted Publicity

In years past, it was apparently a badge of honor to have given away the most galleys at BEA but in this financially uncertain times, publishers are cutting back. Fewer galleys will be given away this year at BEA as publishers look to more targeted publicity such as making sure that the galleys are getting into the right “tastemakers” (hate that term) instead of carpetbombing the entirety of the book industry with an ARC.

Makes sense. Via Medium At Large

Jane Litte is the founder of Dear Author, a lawyer, and a lover of pencil skirts. She self publishes NA and contemporaries (and publishes with Berkley and Montlake) and spends her downtime reading romances and writing about them. Her TBR pile is much larger than the one shown in the picture and not as pretty. You can reach Jane by email at jane @ dearauthor dot com
