Publishers Move Toward Targeted Publicity

In years past, it was apparently a badge of honor to have given away the most galleys at BEA but in this financially uncertain times, publishers are cutting back. Fewer galleys will be given away this year at BEA as publishers look to more targeted publicity such as making sure that the galleys are getting into the right “tastemakers” (hate that term) instead of carpetbombing the entirety of the book industry with an ARC.
