Print on Demand and I Mean Right in the Store Next to the Coffee and Bookmarks
In 2007, On Demand Books is putting 10 to 25 machines in libraries and bookstores. The machine, called “Espresso” can print, bind, cut and spit out two books with full color laminated covers in seven minutes. Price will be about $.05 per page. Via Engadget. Wouldn’t you just love to go in and say “I’ll take hard to find book A, B, and C along with a grande mocha skinny and no whip?” Well, insert your own poison.

Is that half a dollar per page, or 5 cents per page? If it’s half a dollar, then a 238 page book would cost the punters $119. If it’s 5 cents per page, then it would cost £11.90.
Here’s hoping you meant 5 cents per page (g).

Hmmm, could be interesting…but what if, like every other printer in the world, it coughs and screws up a page or two? I’d still give it a go.

It sounds like a great idea, but the punter has got to be pretty damn sure before parting with his $0.05 per page before pressing the button.
