According to the Association of American Publishers, net sales of books in October were up 13.8% but down overall by 0.3%. Among the categories that say gains in October:
- E-books, up 34.2%, to $2.1 million
- Adult hardcover, up 29.4%, to $295.1 million
- Adult mass market, up 25%, to $76.4 million
Losers in October
- Children’s/YA paperback, down 9.5%, to $52.3 million
- Religious books, down 4.1%, to $72.3 million
