- SmartMoney.com places the eBook Reader as one of the top 5 “New Things to Buy” in 2009.
- Business Week reviews books on the iPhone and suggests that it is serious competition to the Kindle. We knew that a while back though, didn’t we?
- Speaking of reading on the iPhone, it’s charge will only last through one book so you’ll want to get an alternative, portable power source for long trips.
- The Apple Blog does not like the idea of Books as separate applications like ScrollMotion is trying to convince us users is the bees knees. I agree with the Apple Blog.

Another alternative to a portable power source for the iPhone/iTouch is the iGo, which is what I use. I have tips for the iPhone, Kindle and various other things, plus a splitter, the wall charger and the car charger (in addition to the portable, battery charger). It makes it super easy to carry a back up charger plus power supply for different electronics when I’m traveling, without carrying a bunch of cords for every electronic. I just have to switch out the tips.
One application to rule them all. Some ask, Why not?
I get the feeling Jobs’ health will overshadow all other Apple news.

Actually, I’m hoping that CES will bring a shower of new eReaders. Of course, let’s hope that some of the announcements turn out to be more than unicorns like the infamous Astak readers.
I installed stanza to see how well reading on the iphone would work– it doesn’t for me unfortunately. Print is too small and screen is too bright. Of course it did give me a lovely hour or so trying to get my iphone recognize my new wireless router.
I’d settle for not being looked at as if I had suggested sex with a cane toad when I ask Australian retailers if they sell ereaders of any kind :(
