Does Thomas Harris Read His Fan Fiction?
The Telegraph Herald is reporting that paragraphs of Thomas Harris’ Hannibal Rising have eerie similarities to fan fiction. Now, I did advocate allowing fan fiction to be written, but I don’t know that it should be read!

Harris’s earlier books established that Lecter uses the genuine historical memorization technique here referred to as the Inner Castle. It should have come as no surprise that later scenes describing Lecter’s mental processes would feature the same setting,
For Harris to revisit his own character’s established mental landscape surely does not in any way rely upon some fanfic having done the same.
