Brava Short Story Contest Finalists were announced today. Ann Bruce and Annette McCleave were the winners and the entries can be read at the Brava Authors forum. The finalists are read by editor Kate Duffy of Kensington and has led to publication in the past.
I’ve only read the Ann Bruce one but it’s pretty good and makes me interested in other Bruce offerings. Congrats authors.

Just to clarify, there are going to be twenty finalists, Ann and Annette being the first two. They’ll be announcing two per week for ten weeks. Then there will a Reader’s Choice winner and a chosen-by-Kate winner. :)

So if you should ever want to keep 300 authors on tenterhooks straight through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, this is an excellent way to do it.

Are we supposed to be able to read the complete stories? Because I can only find excerpts.

Mary–Only excerpts of 750 words or less were submitted. My understanding is that authors are encouraged to complete the novella in case Kate Duffy asks to see the entire story for possible publication.
