Apple iPhone Price Drop Plus New Touchscreen IPods

Apple announced a new slate of IPods today including a 8 mm thick touchscreen one that looks just like the iPhone, only slimmer.

The current slate of iPods/iPhones are:

  • iPod Shuffle ($79)
  • iPod Nano ($149, $199)
  • iPod Classic, ($249, $349)
  • iPod Touch, ($299, $399)
  • iPhone ($399) – this is a two hundred dollar price drop

The cool thing is that there is an easy hack for the iPhone that doesn’t void the warranty that allows the installation of an ebook reader. I am totally happy with it and will blog about it once I can get the screenshot utility to work. With the new iPod Touch and the lower priced iPhone, Apple has a viable alternative for ebook reading.
