Amazon was granted a patent on Tuesday for its Amazon Upgrade program which is supposed to allow electronic access to owners of a physical text. It also has a “features suppression” which allows a publisher to allow some text to be viewed while hiding others such as allowing an ingredients list to be shown but hiding the instructions.
