A Stunning Case of Hypocrisy?
Remember when the chick lit wars were burning this summer? We blogged about Elizabeth Merrick’s hate of the pink covers and shopping included in books. She published a collection of “real” fiction by the top voices in women’s literature. Alison Kent blogged today about a special event celebrating Elizabeth Merrick’s collection. Is it in a museum? A bookstore? Or a library? Nope, it’s at Dooney and Burke and its called a special shopping event wherein you will receive 20% off regular priced merchandise, a special Dooney & Bourke gift with purchase, and a complimentary signed copy of THIS IS NOT CHICK LIT, while supplies last. Bwaaa Haaaa! I hope they have pink napkins at this party.
