DABWAHA Time Is Here

It’s spring and that means it is DABWAHA time. DABWAHA is the Dear Author Bitchery Writing Award for Hellagood Authors. We know. All blame can be pinned on Sarah. We don’t allow her to name things anymore.
The tournament began in 2008 which makes this our 6th annual tournament of books. Yay!
This is how the tournament works. We put together a selection of great books published in 2012 in eight different categories. The books are pitted against each other. Envision a cage match between books. Your votes determines who wins. The books compete until only one book is left.
You, the player, win by guessing which book will win each match. The person who makes the most correct guesses will win an iPad.
Dear Author and Sarah at Smart Bitches put together 56 of the 64 titles but readers, authors, fans can nominate the last book in each category. This way if you think a book was excluded unfairly, you can nominate it and get all the other fans of that book to join the nomination.
Vote haggling, trading, trash talking, and all sorts of competitive behaviors are encouraged. “Lean in” readers. It is #DABWAHA time.

Thank you! I’m really honored that you picked THE CHOCOLATE THIEF. And prepared to practice bribery with chocolate, voters. BETTER chocolate than my rivals, I promise. They might try to lure you in with false promises of chocolate themselves, but really, what do they know? :)
Thanks so much! This is such a fun contest, and it’s exciting to be a part of it.

This year I finally feel that I have read enough to be able to play and pick some winners- yea!

Oh Geesh! Laura Florand, Molly O’Keefe, Ceilia Grant, Courtney Milan… does it get any better than this!!!!
Can’t wait to start voting!

Wait! What’s this I hear on Twitter about NO BRIBERY? That ruins my whole plan! Seriously…you really don’t want chocolate bribes offered? Are you sure??

Laura – I’ve been friends with Molly O’Keefe for years… but my vote can totally be bought for chocolate… we’ll just keep it on the down low :)

After having had such good feedback on my recommendation here at Dear Author, I’ll be nominating Andrea K. Höst’s And All The Stars in the YA Romance category – it has at least as much romance as Seraphina. And it’s sf, where Seraphina is fantasy.
I hope the nomination form can deal with umlauts ^^

Steph…this isn’t the down low….
