Amazon Pricing Problem: Beware

Michelle Sagara has alerted readers to an Amazon seller who is selling unpublished books.      TSCBooks is offering  unpublished works of authors like Maya Banks, Michelle Sagara, Stephenie Meyer, Maria Snyder and the like.   These are books that are not published and some are not even in ARC form but the seller has them offered for $1,000.00.    There are additional books such as Green Eggs & Ham and The Foot Book offered for $1,000.00 as well.

I’m hopeful that this is just an error but for big fans of Sagara, Banks, and the like, be careful of these “unpublished” works particularly when the price is so high.

Thanks for tip, Has.

I love how they’re selling books that don’t even exist in polished mss. How do they plan to deliver should anyone buy it?

I saw that Green Eggs & Ham and The Foot for $1,000. I was wondering what the heck it was and never looked further.

Rip off artists everywhere. I wonder if anyone has alerted Amazon. Like the Author’s Guild. :-)

As an Amazon seller I can tellyou the reason for this. The seller had to do a mass upload to get the titles in the system, the prices are high so no one will buy them. Then the seller runs a program that reprices the books accordingly. Had anyone been SILLY enough to purchase one of those I’m sure the seller would have refunded.

It looks as though Michelle has a point, because, as of this time, there aren’t any books that I can find priced at $1,000 nor can I find any unpublished works — unless Amazon caught wind of it and made them straighten up and fly right, but considering that the seller has a pretty good rating (4.5 stars) and still has an Amazon account, Michelle’s story is more likely.
