From Jacket Copy:

Kevyn Llewellyn, a struggling artist, must have the exactly right model for her next project, or she’s going to be fired. When she sees him—none other than Rusty Rivers, NFL player fighting injuries to save his career—she does the absolutely logical thing: she kidnaps him. Or rescues him… it depends on whom you’re asking.

Rusty Rivers is the kind of guy who’s squandered every opportunity, while Kevyn’s had to fight for every success. They’re as different as meteor and moonbeam, with nothing apparent in common, and yet… in this doomed, enchanted football season, dare they hope that anything magical can happen that they can believe in forever?

Parker Blue Bite Me Bite Me by Parker Blue. $1.99.

From Jacket Copy:

Book One of the Demon Underground Series. Barely eighteen-year-old heroine Valentine Shapiro got a raw deal in the parent lottery. Her father was part incubus demon, and her mother’s never forgiven her for that.Life after high school is tough enough without having to go 15 rounds with your inner demon. Thrown out of the house by her mother, Val puts one foot in front of the other and does the only thing that seems to make any sense–she takes aim at the town vampires. A stake a day, keeps the demon at bay. (But don’t call her Buffy. That makes Lola, her demon, very cranky.) Her dark side makes everyday life a roller coaster, but means she’s perfect for her night job as a bounty hunter. San Antonio’s vampires are out of control, and it’s up to Val, her faithful hellhound Fang, and her new partner, a handsome San Antonio police detective, to get the deadly fangbangers off the city streets. Soon enough she finds herself deep in the underbelly of the city, discovering the secrets of the Demon Underground and fighting to save those she loves. Whether they love her back or not.

This is a fairly big price drop. The original digital price is around $9.99. Tracy on Amazon gives this three stars: ”
I have to be honest, I’m not very familiar with YA novels, so I don’t have any idea what the standards are, and I don’t want to seem overcritical because of that. That being said, I thought Bite Me was okay for a simple, sort of two dimensional story without a particularly well developed plot where the action wasn’t completely realistic and the idea of anything resembling even nominal police procedure was absent. It wasn’t a bad book, really, but it lacked sophistication and complexity at every turn.”

Prince of the Night by Jasmine Cresswell Prince of the Night by Jasmine Creswell. $.99.

From Jacket Copy:

The peasants called him the Count of Albion and relied on him to keep them safe from the political storms raging around them. But the villagers feared him as much as they revered him. They knew he fought for Italy’s freedom, but they couldn’t understand why the mysterious nobleman preferred the night hours and the shadows. Sequestered in the isolated villa called the Three Fountains, the count hid his secrets well — until the arrival of a beautiful Englishwoman, Miss Cordelia Hope.

Cordelia soon understood that the Count kept to the shadows both to hide his secret mission and to shroud his tormented soul. Irresistibly drawn to him, she sensed his pain and craved his touch. They each felt the other’s passion in ways she had never before dreamed possible — and Cordelia was naive enough to believe that love could conquer all obstacles. The Count knew better. And yet he couldn’t resist the woman who claimed that he was her destiny: a vampire whose love she would die to possess.

This was originally published under Topaz imprint in 1995. One of the reviewers characterizes this as an intelligent gothic vampire romance.  Hmm.  I’m intrigued.

Midnight's Wild Passion by Anna Campbell Midnight’s Wild Passion by Anna Campbell. $.99.

From Jacket Copy:

London’s most notorious seducer, Nicholas Challoner lives solely for revenge . . .

The dashing, licentious Marquess of Ranelaw can never forgive Godfrey Demarest for ruining his sister—now the time has come to repay the villain in the same coin. But one formidably intriguing impediment stands in the way of Nicholas’s vengeance: Miss Antonia Smith, companion to his foe’s unsuspecting daughter.

Having herself been deceived and disgraced by a rogue—banished by her privileged family as a result and forced to live a lie—Antonia vows to protect her charge from the same cruel fate. She recognizes Ranelaw for the shameless blackguard he is and will devote every ounce of her intelligence and resolve to thwarting him.

Yet Antonia has always had a fatal weakness for rakes . . .

I don’t remember this book but Anna Campbell is heralded as bringing the darker regency historical. One of the reviewers regretted the lack of dialogue.

Patricia Borroughs also put really long excerpts of the book on the BVC blog. And she has a contest running, too. And for people who prefer downloading the excerpts that’s also possible.
