Setting up the money shot…

Quiet, sensible Ellie Smithson is a highly respectable photographer by day – but there are only so many wedding photo-shoots you can take without your mind wandering to what happens when the blissfully happy bride is swept off her feet and straight to the honeymoon suite’s sumptuous four-poster bed…

So after dark, Ellie takes pictures of a more…intimate nature – a dirty little secret she’s kept from her accountant Tom. Until now. It seems Tom is the subject of her next racy shoot!

It isn’t just the blurring of work and personal boundaries that’s the problem; secretly Ellie has always had fantasies of a most unprofessional nature about the almost illegally gorgeous Tom. With such temptation on display, how will she ever stay behind the camera?!

The first book in the Indecent… trilogy:

A naughty, fun novella for anyone looking for hot erotica without BDSM. Received great reviews from Jennifer at RNN and our own Kaetrin at her personal blog Kaetrin’s Musings. The first in a loosely linked trilogy, this can be read as a standalone.

Bound by Night by Larissa IoneBound by Night by Larissa Ione. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

Larissa Ione’s bestselling Demonica series has captivated fans with its sensual blend of dark passion and demonic fury. Now she takes you to another intoxicating world—where a dangerous clan of wild vampires rules the night . . .

Nicole Martin was only eight years old when the vampire slaves rose up in rebellion and killed her family. Now she devotes her life to finding a vaccine against vampirism, hoping to wipe out her memories—along with every bloodsucker on the planet. But there’s one thing she cannot destroy: her searing, undeniable attraction for the one man she should hate and fear the most . . .

A member of the renegade vampire MoonBound Clan, Riker is haunted by demons of his own. When he recognizes Nicole and remembers how her family enslaved his loved ones, his heart burns for vengeance. But when he kidnaps Nicole and holds her in a secret lair, his mortal enemy becomes his soul obsession, his greatest temptation, and, perhaps, his only salvation—a hot-blooded lover who could heal him with her touch . . . or bury him forever.

Many of the reviews said that this was a different take on vampires but struggled with the connection between the two main characters. Additionally, there is a child abuse trigger warning.

Death in the Floating City by Tasha AlexanderDeath in the Floating City by Tasha Alexander. $ 2.99 AMZN | Apple

From the Jacket Copy:

The Huffington Post calls Tears of Pearl author Tasha Alexander “one to watch—and read” and Death in the Floating City, her new Lady Emily mystery set in Venice, proves it!

Years ago, Emily’s childhood nemesis, Emma Callum, scandalized polite society when she eloped to Venice with an Italian count. But now her father-in-law lies murdered, and her husband has vanished. There’s no one Emma can turn to for help but Emily, who leaves at once with her husband, the dashing Colin Hargreaves, for Venice. There, her investigations take her from opulent palazzi to slums, libraries, and bordellos. Emily soon realizes that to solve the present day crime, she must first unravel a centuries old puzzle. But the past does not give up its secrets easily, especially when these revelations might threaten the interests of some very powerful people.

One of the critical reviews said it read like a teenage romance. I know that it’s supposed to deter me from reading but damn if it doesn’t make me want to hit the one click buy button.

—RT Book Reviews on The Tycoon’s Secret Affair

ENTICED was originally published as Enticed by His Forgotten Lover

This was once a Silhouette Desire but Harlequin is rebranding it. Sarah Wendell enjoyed this series I believe. If you don’t like babies and amnesiac victims, stay away.

I’ve been interested in the Tasha Alexander books–but this is book 7 (?) in the Lady Emily series. Would it be a little confusing to start with this book?

I read Indecent Exposure in the spring because Jennifer at RNN and Kaetrin were going on about it’s fabulousness via Twitter and I got sucked in. I’m happy I did- it was terrific!

What a great Maya Banks deal! I’ve read all of her Harlequin Desires. SO good. (I love secret/surprise baby trope!) I wish she’d write more!

This and the second in the series (Wanted By Her Lost Love?) are my favorite Banks books.

    @peggy h–
You could probably read this and not feel too lost. The relationship between Lady Emily and her husband Colin has settled, though they still have their points of disagreement (as any married couple does).
I love this series and have been reading it since it first started. The first book (‘And Only to Deceive’) is wonderful and poignant.

Sarah Maas’ fantasy YA, Throne of Glass, is $.99 at Kobo, and it’s also coupon eligible. The 75% off coupons were still working as of this evening.

Thank you Barb in Maryland (I used to live in MD before moving to PA!) I just noticed that the first book is also on sale–maybe I’ll get #1 and then #7–haha!

Re Dalai Lama’s Cat–I’m more of a dog person, but enjoyed the book :)
