Special Price for a Limited Time Only! Experience an Alpha-Male the way Lynda Chance writes one. But Be Careful !!! They’re so alpha, you might get angry!

The Louisiana Liaisons Series-Box Set

Three Complete Novellas : Seduced by the American Millionaire , Blackmailed Into Bed, Bedded by the Boss

I think the blurb by Chance sets out the warning fairly clearly. She writes a super alpha male (although her heroines usually have a backbone). I’d recommend this to fans of Lisa Marie Rice / Shannon McKenna and Harlequin Presents.

Scotsmen Prefer Blondes Sara RamseyScotsmen Prefer Blondes by Sara Ramsey. $ Free at Amazon and 99c at BN

From the Jacket Copy:

She never wanted marriage…

When a friend is forced to consider a marriage of convenience, Lady Amelia Staunton is determined to rescue her. But her plans trap her in an illicit seduction, and Amelia must marry him herself. Malcolm’s all-consuming kisses and devilish humor might make up for her lost freedom, but she believes he will force her to abandon the Gothic romances she yearns to write. Since she can’t escape him, she must distract him from her secret…

He isn’t looking for love…

A powerful autocrat with a well-hidden rebellious streak, Malcolm MacCabe doesn’t need another beautiful mistress – he needs an obedient wife. Obedience is not one of Amelia’s virtues. But he’s too enthralled by her wit and passion to let her go – even if it means risking the political reputation he is building to save his clan.

Their hearts can’t survive the scandal…

Despite their intentions, every wicked embrace binds them together. But as their conflicting desires combust into insatiable hunger and unavoidable ruin, they must decide whether to pursue their personal destinies alone – or fight for the love that could destroy them both.

Our new reviewer, Kelly, rated this a 3.5 star on Goodreads. Maybe I can twist her arm into reviewing it for DA. There was no text in the review so I’ll just assume Kelly found some things that were interesting and some things that kind of felt off to her.

The Killing Moon N. K. JemisinThe Killing Moon by N. K. Jemisin. $ 2.99

From the Jacket Copy:
Overview

The city burned beneath the Dreaming Moon.

In the ancient city-state of Gujaareh, peace is the only law. Upon its rooftops and amongst the shadows of its cobbled streets wait the Gatherers – the keepers of this peace. Priests of the dream-goddess, their duty is to harvest the magic of the sleeping mind and use it to heal, soothe . . . and kill those judged corrupt.

But when a conspiracy blooms within Gujaareh’s great temple, Ehiru – the most famous of the city’s Gatherers – must question everything he knows. Someone, or something, is murdering dreamers in the goddess’ name, stalking its prey both in Gujaareh’s alleys and the realm of dreams. Ehiru must now protect the woman he was sent to kill – or watch the city be devoured by war and forbidden magic.

Google is having a sale on SFF and Fantasy books and Amazon is price matching. Jia has reviewed Jemisin before (and I read the first in the Kingdoms series). Jemisin writes a diverse cast and has a strong voice. Sometimes her story tropes are traditional romance ones in which she ends them in a way to preserve her SFF cred.

The Devil's Star: A Novel Jo NesboThe Devil’s Star by Jo Nesbo. $ $2.99 at Amazon & Google .

From the Jacket Copy:

Oslo is sweltering in the summer heat when a young woman is murdered in her flat. One finger has been cut off and a tiny red diamond in the shape of a pentagram—a five-pointed star—is found under her eyelid. Detective Harry Hole is assigned the case with Tom Waaler, a colleague he neither likes nor trusts. He believes Tom is behind a gang of arms smugglers—and the murder of his partner. But Harry, an off-the-rails alcoholic, is barely holding on to his job and has little choice but to play nice.

Five days later, another woman is reported missing. When her severed finger is found adorned with a star-shaped red diamond ring, Harry fears a serial killer is on the loose. Determined to find the killer and expose the crooked Tom Waaler, Harry discovers the two investigations melding in unexpected ways. But pursuing the truth comes at a price, and soon Harry finds himself on the run and forced to make difficult decisions about a future he may not live to see.

One of the brightest stars of Scandinavian crime writing, Jo Nesbø has been compared to Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly, and Henning Mankell. His novels are bestsellers throughout Europe, acclaimed by critics and revered by aficionados of thrillers and mysteries. Brilliantly plotted and paced, The Devil’s Star shows Nesbø at his absolute best, combining powerful emotional resonance with truly stunning suspense.

Three of Harry Hole thrillers are on sale for $2.99: The Redbreast, Nemesis, and The Devil’s Star. I think a couple of them have already been discounted. Ned likes this series quite a bit. I bought all these books at full price so enjoy the discount. I’m only a little bitter.

Bec McMaster’s Heart of Iron is 1.99 at Amazon. I put an eReaderIQ alert on it because I wasn’t crazy about Lena in the first book. :)

Ages ago there was a daily deal of a thriller/suspense that was a woman with amnesia and her husband might have been not on the up and up. Does it sound familiar? I really want to get this book and can’t remember title or author. I’m such a dork.

@Lori: I think it was Before I Go To Sleep. I reviewed that a few years ago and I remember that it came up as a daily deal more recently. It was a disturbing thriller and not my cuppa, BTW.

@Lori — It might be Elisabeth Naughton’s Wait for Me. I bought it when it was on sale, started it, and then deleted it from my eReader after skipping to the end because the characters were cardboard, the writing pedestrian, and I couldn’t stand the male MC. YMMV.
