I’m generally against anything that requires you to buy in order for a donation to a cause so don’t buy this anthology because profits go toward breast cancer research. NFL tries to sell you on this during breast cancer awareness month when only a tiny fraction of sales actually goes towards an organization that researches cancer.

Buy the anthology because it interests you not because of any philanthropic idea attached to it in the name of publicity.

Torn (Billionaire Bachelors Club Series #2) by Monica MurphyTorn by Monica Murphy. $ .99

From the Jacket Copy:

New York Times bestselling author Monica Murphy mixes business with pleasure in the second book of her sexy Billionaire Bachelors Club series …

Marina Knight came to this party for one thing only: to slap Gage Emerson in the face. Poised to snatch up her family’s real estate empire, the sexy tycoon is on the verge of making an enemy for life—even if he can make her melt with a single kiss …

When Gage discovers that the alluring woman before him is the key to his latest acquisition, claiming her as his suddenly doesn’t seem quite so cut-and-dried. To get what he wants, he must get to know the fierce woman willing to face him down—as she steadily steals his heart.

Gage’s persistence and intense passion war with Marina’s determination to protect her family. As they delve deeper into an affair they didn’t see coming, Marina’s torn: Will she lose her heart to Gage—or everything she holds dear?

You can buy the first in this series for .99 and pick up the second for .99 as well. I read the first one and its a category type romance book – kind of a blend between Harlequin Presents with the uber wealthy hero and Blaze with the more contemporary sensibility. I found the hero came off a little too immature for my taste in Crave.

Assassin's Touch, Iron Portal #1 Laurie LondonAssassin’s Touch, Iron Portal #1 by Laurie London. $ .99

From the Jacket Copy:

Haunted by loss, Cascadian assassin Rickert D’Angelus is on a mission of vengeance. Determined to stop the Pacifican army from finding a portal to his world, he leads a group of warriors into New Seattle with one goal—to kill all Pacifican soldiers.

Neyla Trihorn had the perfect life until a deadly accident revealed her latent para-abilities. Now, the former fashion designer is the Pacifican army’s hottest commodity in their fight against the invaders.

When Rickert discovers a beautiful, unconscious soldier on a cold mountain ledge near the portal, he realizes she’s a Protection-Talent and cannot be killed. To prevent the army from using her skills again, he takes her as his prisoner instead.

One fated touch…

But when he pulls her into his arms, a sexy and compelling vision appears, awakening something inside him. Something he can’t ignore.

Torn between duty and passion, Rickert must decide if the vision is a Talent trick designed to foil the enemy or the answer to his deepest desires…

Apparently this is a short story and I can’t tell if it is novella length or short short. The negative reviews say that it is too short for the type of story trying to be told but intriguing enough to continue with.

Breaking Point by Pamela ClareBreaking Point by Pamela Clare. $ 1.99.

From the Jacket Copy:

Denver journalist Natalie Benoit and Deputy U.S. Marshal Zach McBride find themselves captives of a bloodthirsty Mexican drug cartel. Working together, they escape through the desert toward the border, the attraction between them flaring hotter than the Sonoran sun. They fight to stay ahead of the danger that hunts them as forces more powerful than they can imagine conspire to destroy them both…

I thought I liked this book and sure enough, I gave it a recommended banner. So this is a definite buy. “This book is full of action and adventure but more importantly, an emotional plotline between Natalie whose heart had never really restarted after her Katrina loss and Zach who had always wanted the wife, kids and home but after the war was never able to find that right person. At times, Zach even believed he didn’t deserve to have that kind of contentedness.”

And look how fancy the recommended reads banner is/was. I think I was trying different ones out at that point.I see I carefully placed it so it would highlight his V lines.

Woman in a Sheik's World Sarah MorganWoman in a Sheik’s World by Sarah Morgan. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

With a client list hotter than the Zubran desert, wedding planner Avery Scott shouldn’t be surprised that her latest client is Crown Prince Malik of Zubran—the man who once lit her body on fire…before steamrollering over her heart.

Determined to ignore Malik’s lethal charm, Avery makes a very personal not-to-do list:

1. Not being Malik’s intended, our relationship must remain 100 percent professional.

2. His arranged bride might have run away, but I mustn’t distract him—for the kings of Zubran, duty always comes first.

3. However luxurious the Bedouin tent—and smoldering the tension—pride dictates the touch I crave stays strictly forbidden.

This is a book I have not read! A wedding planner and a desert sheik and a luxurious Bedouin tent?

I have been wanting to read a Pamela Clare since I read some of her historicals, I wonder if the I-team novels need to be read in order?

@Amanda: No, I don’t think so. In fact, some of her earlier books in the series wanted to make me tear my hair out.

Assassin touch was in the dark and dangerous 6 in 1 set, that was 0.99. Nt a bad story but felt rushed it runs not sure the length, maybe around 130 pages.

@Jolanda: There really is a “Cascadian” secession movement around here but when newscasters talk about Cascadia they are generally referring to Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.

I’m buying this due to the location only and am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

The Entangled anthology came out a year or two ago and I read it then. I quite enjoyed most of the stories and would recommend it.

They definitely don’t need to be read in order. I just re-read the series and still love this one, although Naked Edge is my favourite.
I think she has a new RS coming out, but a different series.
