Ten Tiny Breaths K. A. TuckerTen Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker. $ .99

From the Jacket Copy:

Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. When Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex.

I enjoyed this NA book. It doesn’t contain cheating. It was pretty well edited. It involves a pretty serious emotional component that isn’t solved by someone’s magical hoo haa. I’m a little on the fence about the ending, but it does end with a confirmed HEA. At $.99, if you are interested in the NA genre, I’d recommend this one.

I can’t find the book on BN but it is available at Smashwords, Kobo, and iBookstore but only available at Smashwords and Amazon for the .99c.

From Notting Hill with Love...Actually Ali McNamara From Notting Hill with Love…Actually by Ali McNamara. $ Free.

From the Jacket Copy:

She was a girl, standing in front of a boy…

Movie fanatic Scarlett O’Brien dreams of a life as glamorous and romantic as all the big screen flicks she worships. When a chance house-sitting job in iconic Notting Hill comes along, she knows living in one of her favorite movie settings is an opportunity too good to pass up.

Leaving behind her skeptical friends, family, and fiance, Scarlett heads to London and finds herself thrust into the lead role of her very own romantic comedy. But can real life ever be just like the movies? Larger-than-life new friends, a handsome but irksome new neighbor, and a mystery from her past may prove to Scarlett that living her life like a RomCom is more complicated than she thought!

Sourcebooks is the original home of fan fiction given the huge catalog of Darcy books it publishes and now this story that seems pulled from the cinema. Love Actually is one of my favorite movies, though, and who can resist a free book?

Those Sidney Sheldon deals are great. I bought two of his titles that I read and enjoyed: If Tomorrow Comes and Rage of Angels. I’ve always said I would love to try more of his work. Will check out the others, thanks.

Sidney Shelon was one of my guilty pleasures in hs. I learned a lot of interesting / shocking things from him and Judith Krantz and Jackie Collins. Is this is the one where she’s interrupted during a robbery so she answers the door in a sexy nightgown and mud mask and is never identified?

@cleo: I know! Wasn’t it in The Other Side of Midnight that the heroine, when asked her opinion on her first sight of a man’s penis (of which he was inordinately proud) replied “turkey neck and two gizzards”? Oh, the places you’ll go, the things you’ll learn while reading.

Jane, did my comment get a timeout because I used a word that starts with “p” and rhymes with “venus”?

@Darlynne – Yes, not only was it flagged but it was sent direct to the spam folder. Maybe it is Penis + turkey neck and two gizzards?

Thanks for the tip on From Notting Hill…as someone who mostly gets books from the library, I was bummed to discover that mine didn’t have it but now I have my own free copy! Hopefully I’ll like it more than leslie above.

Picked up the NA book, based on genre alone. So yay for links.

I’m assuming all the Laurens books are full, not a novella or anything? I saw them the other day but I wasn’t sure if they were worth the price.
