Daily Deals: More romances for $1.99

Katie McGarry’s Pushing the Limits is on sale for 20p at Amazon UK. I highly recommend that book at that price.

Angel of Darkness by Cynthia EdenAngel of Darkness by Cynthia Eden. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

He Fell For Her

Nicole St. James was a nice woman. An innocent, pretty, twentysomething schoolteacher with her life ahead of her. But as the angel of death, it’s Keenan’s job to take that life away. So when a vampire attacks Nicole, Keenan is not supposed to snap and take out the vampire instead. It cost him his wings—but she’s worth it.

Except when Keenan catches up to his pretty schoolteacher, she’s not so innocent anymore. Hot red lipstick, tight black shorts and long white fangs—she’s ready to kick the asses of anyone who helped turn her into a damn bloodsucker. Unless that ass is unusually shapely and attached to a certain fallen angel. Even with all of heaven and half of hell after them, someone will have to teach Keenan about the fun kinds of sin. . .

I haven’t read this book but I’ve heard quite a bit of chatter about this series and thus I’ve set aside Angel in Chains to read. So yeah, I bought this one.

A Scandalous Scot by Karen RanneyA Scandalous Scot by Karen Ranney. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

One scandal was never enough . . .

After four long years, Morgan MacCraig has finally returned to the Highlands of his birth . . . with his honor in shreds. After a scandal, all he wants now is solace-yet peace is impossible to find with the castle’s outspoken new maid trying his patience, challenging his manhood . . . and winning his love, body and soul.

Jean MacDonald wants to leave her past behind and start anew, but Ballindair Castle, a Scottish estate rumored to be haunted, hasn’t been the safe haven she envisioned. Ballindair’s ancestral ghosts aren’t as fascinating as Morgan, the most magnificent man she’s ever seen. Though their passion triggers a fresh scandal that could force them to wed, Jean must first share the secrets of her own past-secrets that could force them apart, or be the beginning of a love and redemption unlike anything they’ve ever known.

I always get Karen Hawkins and Karen Ranney mixed up. I think they both write Scottish historicals but one (Karen Hawkins) are more lighthearted, in the vein of Julia Quinn, whereas I would characterize Ranney as more like Suzanne Enoch.

122667479Dangerous Race by Dee J. Adams. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

Four years ago, race car driver Tracey Bradshaw almost died in a horrific crash. Now scarred inside and out, she’s making a comeback, but her team is plagued by a series of “accidents”.

When the team leader dies under mysterious circumstances, former driver Mac Reynolds takes charge. The pair clash as Trace resents his high-handed attempts to control her, while Mac fears Trace’s recklessness will get her killed. Neither can throttle back the desire that spins out of control whenever they touch. Trace lets herself be seduced when Mac convinces her he finds her beautiful despite her scars, and she begins to hope for more. But Mac knows he’s not nearly good enough for Trace?

I haven’t read this book but I’ve read two others in the series. Adams writes some solid suspense.

Storm (Brigid Kemmerer's Elemental Series #1) by Brigid KemmererStorm by Brigid Kemmerer. $ 1.99.

From the Jacket Copy:

Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys–all the ones she doesn’t want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her.

Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water–just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming…

I bought this book at the honking high price of 2.99 and I thought it was a worthwhile book at that price so I definitely recommend it at $1.99.
