3 Sexy Brothers, 3 Dangerous Stories…
The Red Stone Security Series Box Set (Volume 1) includes the following three best-selling romantic suspense titles by Katie Reus:

No One to Trust:

When his risky lifestyle finally lands him in harm’s way, Elizabeth finds herself dragged into the dangerous underworld and into the path of one of Miami’s death-dealing drug lords. Only after her ex-boyfriend saves her does she realize she has no choice but to depend on former Marine Porter Caldwell, the one man she’s tried desperately to forget.

Danger Next Door:

After an explosion leaves former detective Grant Caldwell scarred he tries to hide from the outside world. But when Belle Manikas, his beautiful neighbor, finds herself at the mercy of a violent stalker Grant sees it as his duty to protect her. Even though he knows he’d never have a chance with her-not with his disfigurement-he’ll do anything to keep her safe.

Fatal Deception:

Mara Caldwell is a woman with a dark past. She made a clean break from her old life, never imagining her secrets could come back to haunt her. When an old enemy surfaces and threatens the world she’s created for herself Mara is prepared to give up everything, including the husband she loves if it will keep him safe.

Harrison knew his wife had secrets when he married her, but when he discovers the truth, it’s far worse than he imagined. He’s determined to protect her from a deadly enemy who wants to destroy her, but her lack of faith in him infuriates and wounds him. They must work together to keep her safe, but the man they’re up against seeks to destroy everything they’ve built together. Including their lives.

Collection: 117,000 words

I kind of like these single author sets better than the multi author ones even though you are getting less product for your money it might be more worthwhile in the end.

To Pleasure a Lady by Nicole JordanTo Pleasure a Lady by Nicole Jordan. $ .99

From the Jacket Copy:

Nicole Jordan spins a delectable tale of wit and exquisite sensuality in this mesmerizing Regency romance, the captivating first in a dazzling new trilogy, The Courtship Wars.
Marcus Pierce, a strikingly handsome aristocrat with a wicked reputation, inherits guardianship of Arabella Loring and her two younger sisters–and immediately declares his intention to marry them off. But gorgeously defiant Arabella sparks frustration–and something deeply erotic–in Marcus. After matching both wits and swords with her, Marcus concludes that this beautiful and formidable foe must be his.

Having sworn off marriage and men, Arabella wishes to be left alone to run her finishing school for young ladies. To that end, she boldly accepts Marcus’s intimate challenge: If he can woo and win her within two weeks, she’ll take her place in his bed as his wife. However, if she can resist his considerable charms, the Loring sisters will be granted their independence. Thus an extraordinary game of seduction begins. . . .

Slow beginning says one three star reviewer but picks up the pace in the second half.

Midnight Temptations with a Forbidden Lord by Tiffany ClareMidnight Temptations with a Forbidden Lord by Tiffany Clare. $ 2.99

From the Jacket Copy:

Tiffany Clare

Tristan Bradley, the notorious Marquess of Castleigh, is a danger to any woman’s reputation. Devastatingly handsome and devilishly seductive, he delights in the challenge of a lovely new conquest—especially when she’s engaged to a man he despises. But when this particular young lady asks him to dance, Tristan realizes he may not be the only one playing a game.

Defiantly bold and disarmingly beautiful, Lady Charlotte Lindsey will do anything to break free from her loathsome fiancé—even destroy her good name to do it. What better way to seal the deal than a tryst with Lord Tristan, who’s led many a girl to ruin? But when Charlotte looks into his eyes—and Tristan takes her in his arms—all of their schemes melt away…because the heart has a plan of its own.

I guess this was written in conjunction with another story by the same author and that the two stories overlap (and somewhat repeat). Some of the reviews indicate that there is no resolution in this book and that you have to buy the next one to get the full romance.

Loving the Earl: A Loveswept Historical Romance by Sharon CullenLoving the Earl by Sharon Cullen. $ 2.99.

From the Jacket Copy:

In Sharon Cullen’s sizzling novel of scandal and seduction, a headstrong beauty is pursued across Europe by London’s most notorious rake.

Having vowed never to wed again, widowed viscountess Claire Hartford is about to do the unthinkable: travel unaccompanied across the continent in search of a lover. Her adventure begins sooner than expected, when she meets a magnificent cloaked stranger on her ship’s gangplank. He is Lord Blythe, a man whispered about in London’s ballrooms and drawing rooms, a scandalous rogue hell-bent on seduction.

Nathan Ferguson curses the day he agreed to look out for his best friend’s wayward sister. The charismatic earl is traveling to Paris to uncover the truth behind his father’s death, but his desire for Claire threatens to be his undoing. From France to Italy, on a journey of passionate discovery and danger, Nathan is honor-bound to protect her—from himself most of all. What can he offer Claire? Only love, as he sets out to prove to the woman of his dreams that she belongs to him—body, heart, and soul.

The three star review says that the ending seemed to resolve too quickly.

Disclosure: Tiffany Clare is my cp and best friend. I’ve read Midnight Temptations With a Forbidden Lord numerous times and love it (not impartial, obviously). The series (the last book is coming out next month) all take place at the same time, so there is some overlapping of scenes but it’s not retelling the same story in a different book, like the recent trend in NAs. There is definitely a resolution in this book with the main couple’s romance with a firm HEA.

I’m tempted by the Clare book, but I’d never buy the other two in the series–Macmillan has the ebooks priced higher than the MMPB, something that really irks me.

I read the Clare book when I won a free copy of it. I had a lot of problems with the book, mainly I wasn’t a fan of the heroine and there was no resolution. I did really like the hero and his sister. Despite all of the issues in the book there was something about the author’s voice that made me interested in eventually checking out the other books in the series if I can get them cheap enough.

I bought the Katie Reus box set. I’m a sucker for the Beauty and the Beast trope so it was worth my 99c for the second book alone I reckon.
